I was almost down the short, cement driveway, when I heard someone called my name. I turned to see Max running after me. "Yeah?", I asked. "We haven't gone on one of our nightly walks in a while. So... I figured i could walk you back to your dorm." I smiled at him, "Yeah I guess it has been a while." "Lets go then!", He said excitedly.

Max and I used to go walking at night at the beginning of last year, and we would talk about anything and everything. We would tell each other things we haven't told anyone else, not even Bailey.

"Okay.", Max said seriously,"Before we even talk about green eyes, I-" "How do you know about him?! "I said cutting him off. "Um...", He said trying to act dumb. "Bailey?", I asked. "Yeah..She came home earlier all mad, because you didn't follow her to the car. And said that you left her for some green eyed cashier at Smoothie King" he said. "I didn't- I just- " I said trying to find words. "It's okay, another time maybe." He said. I nodded. "So, what were you saying earlier?" I asked. "I was going to say that I don't see how you eat so much without gaining any weight. Then, I remembered you had a high metabolism." "Oh." I said while laughing.

We talked in silence for a while, before he looked at me with a smirk on his face. "What?" I said smiling. "Wanna go to the park?", He said wiggling his eyebrows. "Sure, but no funny business." I said seriously. Max knew I was joking though. He's like my big brother, or at least that's how we treat each other. We've been that way since the day we met and he would never try anything.

When we made it to the park Max stopped. "Danggit!" he said frustrated. "What happened?" I asked walking to in front of where he stood. I had forgotten about the lock on the gate.  "Oh." I said disappointed. "Yeah, lets just go.", He said. "Wait!" I said grabbing his arm. He turned and looked at me expectantly. "There's always another way." I said looking at the top of the gate. I let go of his arm and he walked back over to the gate. He turned back at me and smiled," Good thinking Anna, good thinking."

"Ready?", He asked  "As ready as I'll ever be.", I answered. I stepped into Max's cupped hands and he lifted me up to his chest. I climbed over the gate swiftly with barely any noise. Now Max was a different story, since he had nothing to lift him he just had to climb the gate by himself. At first he did okay and then the gate started rattling really loudly. I was afraid it was going to fall, but he made it over eventually.

"You okay?" I asked as he dropped to the ground. "Yeah." he said straitening his body. "I thought you were going to fall." I said. "Me too." He admitted. He nudged me as we started walking to the main part of the park.

We walked together for a while, then I started skipping to the seesaws while Max complained about how far ahead I was, but I kept going. When he finally made it to the seesaws I was already sitting on one, looking at him. He finally sat down, causing me to fly up in the air. He brought me back down and we started laughing again.

I started talking about Trevor and I told Max everything I knew about him. While I talked we would change from different places, and by the time I was done we had been on each one at least twice. We were now sitting on a motionless merry-go-round while I looked at the ground and Max stared at me. Somehow I had gotten on the subject of Amy, my twin sister. I knew Max wouldn't know what to say, he never did when it came to these things. I could see him out of the corner of my eye, open and closing his mouth like a fish.

"Its okay, you don't have to say anything." I said still looking at the ground. He put his arm around me and rubbed my back,. I put my head into his chest and started crying. We layed down on the merry-go-round together and I ended up crying myself to sleep.

I woke up to Max shaking me and slowly saying my name. I opened my eyes to let him know I was awake and saw him smiling at me with amusement in his eyes.

"What?" I asked suddenly getting self conscious. " Nothing, you just look so peaceful while you sleep.", He said lowly, "Sorry I had to wake you. I would've carried you back to your dorm, but the gate is still locked." We got up and started slowly walking toward the gate."That's fine, I'm sorry I turned into an emotional mess." I said apologizing. "That was nothing." He said rolling his eyes." You should've seen Bailey when she was 15. She would cry so much when a guy would brake up with her. The only thing that would make her stop is when I would put her head into my lap and make her laugh"

"You're such a good brother." I said elbowing him. "I try, I try." He said taking a bow. I started laughing at him and he pointed at me. "See, the laughing thing always works." He said. "I guess it does." I said smiling. We finally made it to the gate and we both stopped and looked at each other. "What time is it?" I asked suddenly feeling tired. "One." said Max. "I looked at him surprised. "One? Oh how long was I out for?" i asked frantically. "Mhhmmm, about three hours maybe?" he said thinking. "Why didn't you wake me up sooner? I asked. "Because I fell asleep too." he said, " I didn't even mean to fall asleep."

"It's fine. It's not the first time I've cried myself to sleep in your arms." I said. "I'm always here if you need me. You hear me?" He said seriously. "Yeah, I know" I said. " Good." he said," So, do you have enough energy to get over this? Or are we sleeping in the park?" "I think I can make it." I said laughing. We did the same routine as we did earlier, except Max made a little more noise this time.

We walked in silence the rest of the way to my dorm. When we finally made it to campus, I thought of Max walking home alone and I couldn't let that happen. "I could drive you home you know?" "No, you are not. I don't want to worry about you driving back while you're tired." He said, his voice full of seriousness.. "You can take my car and I'll come pick it up tomorrow?" I suggested. "You sure?", He asked. "Yep. You aren't tired huh?", I asked "I should be good.", he said. His blue eyes and blonde hair stood out in the moonlight around us. I gave him a hug and told him goodbye. "Keys?" He asked. "Oh yeah, you might need those." I said tossing him the keys. He laughed and gave me another hug. "Thanks for everything Max." I said into his chest. "Anytime sweetheart,",He said.

We didn't say or do anything for a moment. Then, he looked down and kissed me on my forehead. I tried to hide my blush as I buried my face deeper into his chest. Though, of course, I didn't succeed. He pulled away from me and stared walking toward my car. Before he got in, he looked back at me and waved. I waved back and stood in the campus parking lot until he left. When I could no longer see the taillights I started walking towards my dorm, ready to be in bed.
