It was an early morning. The sun had risen extra early, waking up our friend here. She is very tired, as she had a long day yesterday. She has been living in this world for so many years now, it almost feels like there wasn't a world before this one. But she can't forget that world, the world she had a family in, her love. She could never forget that world, even though it was so long ago. Life now was different, there wasn't enough time or energy  to waist on families or love, all of it had to go into survival.

She thought about her past quite often. All the memories she will never experience again. From the laughter of her family, to the soft, unimaginable kiss that she received from him. She thought about the smell of his room; old books, vanilla, and the smell of the bitter morning air. They always woke up together, entangled and caught in each others gaze, forgetting about everything other than his majestic brown eyes and his hands on her sides. That morning, the last morning, was perfect in every way she wanted. That is, until the "bombs" went off.

All she knew about his eyes was that they were the most beautiful shade of mahogany that she'd ever seen and that he's had them his whole life. But it wasn't about what she knew, it was about what she didn't. And because she didn't know and couldn't help, he is dead, and she is in this world of survival. Every day is a fight, every day there is struggle. But for some reason, today felt different to her. Like it used to feel. She didn't know why, so she tried to go along like nothing was different, but everything seemed perfect like it had before. From the shimmering droplets on  the leaves of the plants, to the rising sun's effect on the sky, making it look just like his eyes.

She looked at her surroundings, expecting something to go wrong. But nothing happened. It was a perfect day. She had nothing to do, as she had hunted the day before and gotten a pretty big catch, a moose, and all the plants had been tended to. This was the first time since then, that everything felt perfectly perfect. She walked around her house, as she had nothing to do and couldn't think. There was a sudden silence, complete tranquility. Then, at the door there was a knock. She was surprised, seeming as though only him and her knew where the house was, she slowly walked over and pushed the door open, seeing something she never thought she'd see.
