Gym class. Everyone's favorite class, where they get to change into their terrible gym uniforms and exercise and sweat and look gross.

Except for you.

Gym class was your favorite, and you were one of the best students in the class. You had amazing athletic ability, unlike many of the other kids.

Everyone picked you first for teams, and you tried not to show off (too much) during the warmups. You always felt terrible when you would lap some of your friends, and (c/n) too. The poor boy wasn't much of an athlete, and he always struggled to keep up his jogging and didn't want to fail gym for not running during warmups. He did have straight A's and you were aware that he was one of the smartest kids in the school. The two of you were almost polar opposites, but like they say, opposites attract.

At least in your case, as far as you were aware. You were 99% sure (c/n) had no romantic interests in you.

Today in gym class, you heard you were playing a classic game of dodgeball. You smiled as you made your way to the gym, because dodgeball was one of your favorite things to play. You could show off your great aim and superior dodging skills and-

You ran into someone and felt them crash to the floor.

"Oh, sorry (c/n)! Wasn't looking where I was going." You laughed, extending your hand for him to take. He grabbed it and you pulled him up.

"Thanks, uh, sorry I ran into you." He said quietly.

"It's my fault, but I forgive you." You smiled at the boy and jogged the rest of the way to gym.

Soon, the gym teacher came into the gym. "Ok class, today we're skipping the warmups and going straight to dodgeball, so pick your teams and get going! The team captains are (b/n) and (g/n)! Go!"

The team captains ran to each side of the gym, and sure enough, you were picked first. You ran over to (b/n)'s team side and got ready to start the game. You stretched your arms and legs, and waited for the teams to be completed. (c/n) came over to your side and you flashed a grin at him. He nodded back to you.

The gym teacher blew the whistle, and you ran forward and grabbed a ball and instantly started throwing. You got a few popular boys out, and you smiled at that. Some people on your team cheered at that, and you smiled.

Little did you know, (c/n) was watching you get all the opposing kids out in awe. He didn't know how someone could be so good.

You watched as (c/n) walked closer to the center of the gym with his friend, and he tried to throw the ball at a girl on the other team, but his aim was painfully off. You grimaced and made your way over to him.

"Hey (c/n), do you need any help?" You called, grinning.

He smiled and nodded. "Yeah, that would probably help."

You grabbed a ball and walked over to him. "So, first, you want to step forward with your non-dominant foot, and draw your arm back."

The boy nodded and followed your instructions, perfecting the throwing stance. You smiled and nodded. "Next, You want to aim for your target and throw! Just bring your arm forward, and make sure to follow through. Here, I'll show you." You demonstrated the motion and hit a player on the other team.

"Oh." (c/n) looked a bit intimidated, but he tried what you did. He threw the ball at a player, but missed.

"Here, I'll help." You gently took his arm in your hand and put his arm through the motions, and he nodded, flustered. You felt your face slightly heat up at the contact.

You grinned. "Now, try it without my help." You were impressed with how well he was taking in your instructions, even though you knew he was smart.

(c/n) nodded more confidently now, and threw the ball at another kid. This time, he hit the player. He smiled widely and turned to face you. "Did you see that?! I did it! I hit the kid with my ball!" He cheered.

You smiled and laughed. "That's actually pretty good. You took in the information really well."

He blushed slightly. "Thanks," Then he smiled. "D-do you think you could help me figure out how to do more sports things so I'm not tragically failing all the time?"

"Of course!" You beamed. That would be a pretty good excuse to hang out with (c/n).

"Cool! Thanks (y/n), you're the best."
