Annabeth

*2 weeks earlier*

It was summer and Percy and I were back at Camp Half-Blood. We were at the beach, laying in a blanket that Percy had brought. We had been there all day. We had a picnic, took a swim and had a fun time being together. I was laying down in Percy's lap, reading a book about the architecture of the Parthenon even though I already knew everything, while Percy played with my hair, claiming he was practicing how to braid. I put the book down and looked up at Percy who was staring into the sea. He had been doing that a lot lately, ever since Kronos' attempt at returning last summer. A lot had changed since then. There were many new campers, but the same camp that had been my home since I was seven. Percy and I had spent more time together as we were now dating, but we were still the best of friends. It was more peaceful. I guess it would be, with no threat hanging over our heads. It felt nice.

"Hey Annabeth?" Percy said suddenly.

"Yeah Percy?"

"What are you thinking about?" he asked, still playing with my hair.

"How did you know I was thinking about something?" I asked with a smile.

He smiled back, "You are always thinking."

"A lot has changed since last summer, hasn't it. Everything seems more peaceful."

"Yeah, it feels nice."

We sat in silence again until Percy said, "Hey Annabeth?"

"Yeah Percy?"

"I was wondering, would you like to come to Montauk Beach with me this summer? (To come in a different chapter) My mom and Paul said that it was fine, if you want to of course."

"Hmmm, let me think, Of course! When?"

"In two weeks."

"Sounds great," I said, and I really meant it.

"Hey Annabeth?"

"Yes Percy?" I giggled.

"Do you want to go for a swim?"

"Sure Seaweed Brain, why not." I got up, helped Percy up and dragged him to the edge of the water. Then Percy picked me up, bridal style, and ran into the clashing waves. He put me down where I was waist deep in the water. Then he flicked his hand and sprayed me with water. He started to laugh. "Hey!" and I tackled him. We both fell in the water. While underwater, he pulled me deeper and deeper in. He of course made an air bubble for me so I could breathe. We went to the ocean bottom where colorful schools of fish and a huge variety of plants were. I've been down here billions of times, but it still took my breath away. "This is amazing." He smiled at me.

"Hey Annabeth?" he asked me... again.

"Yeah Percy?"

"I love you." he asked with a slight hesitation. Wow. He just said it. This was the first time he had ever told me that before.

Without hesitation I said, "I love you too Percy." Then he kissed me and it was even better than our first underwater kiss in the canoe lake.

He brought us back up to the shore. He walked out dry since being a son of Poseidon, he didn't get wet, and he waved his hand and I was dried in an instant.

We walked back to my cabin, hand-in-hand and in no rush, even though it was close to curfew and the harpies would be out soon. We walked through the grey door through which the rest of my cabin was already asleep. I turned toward Percy, gave him a quick, but passionate kiss on the lips. When we pulled apart Percy said, "Hey Annabeth?"

"Yeah Percy,"

"You are so beautiful," he said. He said that a lot, but every time, he managed to make me blush. He chuckled, kissed me softly again and started to walk out, but I said, "Hey Percy?"

"Yes Annabeth."

"Night... Love you."

"Love you too."

I went to bed, thinking about my awesome boyfriend. Percy Jackson, I thought to myself, you are the best boyfriend anyone could ever have. Then I fell into a dreamless sleep.

I do not own, nor ever will own PJO... sadly. Rick Riordan does.
