Two days had passed since the incident. Work had just ended and you took the bus home. Unfortunately, it dropped you off on a curb close to the area you'd been assaulted in. You doubted anyone from that apparent gang would mess with you again, but the fear still lingered in your heart as you walked past. For the past two days you'd studied the wall the mysterious stranger had jumped down from. They were nowhere to be seen, expectedly, on both days, although you hoped to see them to thank them.
Today was different. A figure of what seemed to be a young male leaned against a post atop the wall. You at first didn't notice him, but when you did you stopped and studied him from a distance. From what you could tell, he had hair that was dyed a hilarious green color and bore white and orange clothing.
Unsure if he was part of that gang or not, you approached slowly and kept to the opposite side of the road.
He appeared to be sleeping, but opened one eye as you accidentally stepped on a full trash bag.
"Oh, I remember you," he called out. His voice sounded confident but oddly calm and comforting.
"I think you have the wrong person," you replied quickly.
"No, no. I failed to introduce myself two nights ago. See, I'm not really supposed to be out or hanging about commoners, so I--"
"Excuse me," you scoffed. "Commoner?"
"I, uh... Yeah." The boy couldn't be over twenty five and had the audacity to call you a commoner?
"I'll have you know I'm a very important member of this society and nobody here is to be called a simple commoner--"
"You seriously don't remember? Okay, well, two nights ago when those dudes attacked you? Yeah, I saved you. You're welcome," he scoffed, rolling his eyes.
You stopped mid sentence. "That was really you?" You breathed.
He nodded, obviously full of himself. "I-I'm so sorry, I didn't know! You were amazing, thank you so much," you rambled. "I was hoping to meet you one of these days to thank you."
"It's really nothing," he replied modestly, his cocky attitude replaced immediately by a slight blush. "I'm a ninja you know."
"A ninja?" You blinked in amazement. It was uncommon but not impossible for people around Hanamura to be real ninjas, there were multiple high ranking martial arts facilities sprinkled around. "Like... A real ninja?"
"What did you think I meant? Of course a real ninja... Not one of those common martial artists either," he explained. Suddenly he jumped down from the wall, landing silently in front of you.
"What does that mean?" You asked.
"Oh... I've said a little too much. Sorry. Anyways, I think we should be formally introduced." He reached out his hand, to which you did the same and shook. His hand was warm and surprisingly soft for the rough-and-tumble guy he seemed to be.
Puzzled but appreciative of him nonetheless, you decided to trust this good looking boy and thank him again before having to get home.
"Thank you again for saving me. What's your name anyways?"
"That's classified," he replied quietly. "Maybe I'll tell you some other time."
"Are you implying that we'll meet again?" You asked. He shrugged.
"If you want," he winked before jumping back up and over the wall into the Shimada Empire.
As you walked home, amazed by the handsome boy, you realized that he had literally jumped into Shimada territory. You stopped momentarily to think - a real ninja retreating to the Shimada Clan's land. That could only mean one thing - this boy was part of the Shimada Clan!
