The pier covered in fog, making it hard to admire the view. Still, Liam pulled out snacks and tried to make the best of it. You both ate in small silence, with the occasion text tone coming from your phone. You embarrassingly apologized, "Sorry." You gave a quick reply before silencing your phone.

Liam caught a glimpse of the texts Tyler sent you, "He doesn't like me much, does he?" He tried to give a small laugh, but it was obvious he felt threatened

Liam caught a glimpse of the texts Tyler sent you, "He doesn't like me much, does he?" He tried to give a small laugh, but it was obvious he felt threatened. Before you could reply, Liam added in, "I know I dated you once, but it is necessary for him to feel so...insecure?" He chuckled, and it hit a small nerve. You quickly dismissed it, biting into a candy bar. After a bit more silence Liam asked, "How much do they know about me?"

"Harry knows you. Do you remember him? He's my best friend."

Liam looked at you, trying to remember who you're referring to. His eyes widen, "Oh, him." He said, "Harry's the one with short hair, yea?"

You nodded.

"He's nice...unlike his brother." Liam joked a bit, "I'm glad they have key differences now because I would have never guessed who is who." Liam had a habit of changing the subject suddenly, "I remember Harry now. He'd help me with my work when I had trouble."

You rose your brows, "He never told me that."

"Really? We met every now and then during the week."Liam shrugged, "Odd." He put down the rest of his snack, "Never mind that now." He smiled sweetly at you. You always did love his smile. He asked, "How are things with you? I've noticed a lot changed. You're friends with the Styles twins, you have your own place. What else?"

"Well...nothing much really. I'm working a shit job."

Liam titled his head a bit. He asked in confusion, "I figured you'd be focus on your career."

You smiled a bit, "Kind of. I'm going to school, that's something." You added in, "Harry is more of the type of person to think about his future, which is why I admire him. He moved to New York to expand his options."

"Why is he back?"

You paused, "He...had unfinished business."

Liam nodded understandably, "I see." He locked eyes with you, "I noticed the twins are very fond of you...um...are you doing a polygamy thing with 'em?"

"What--no--it's not like that--"

"Sorry, sorry, it's just obvious they both have interest in you."

Awkward silence.

Liam asked, "Back then was easy, wasn't it? We were just in school, not expected to pay anything. And school was fun too." He smiled at you, "We had our moments as well." Before you could say anything, Liam added in, "Even after we graduated, I still thought about ya. It felt like the reason we broke up was because we felt like we couldn't keep it up any longer, heading down different paths...but we're both here now. In the same car." He frowned, looking out the window, "What does that say?"
