you know what sucks?
people, that's what
with their looks and their stares
like you belong in a zoo
they forcibly peel back layers
as if you are an onion
it makes your skin crawl
to always feel watched
constant surveillance
like the Panda Cam 2.0
as if you were meant to be locked away
simply for who you are
you are not good enough
not like us, the stares say
and once the layers are gone
and you are stripped bare
your secrets in the open
exposed to the fresh air
you promised yourself they would never
again see the light of day
but greedy hands are not gentle
are not caring or kind
and once an onion is peeled
it cannot be undone
