Enlightening Downpour

                                                  I opened my eyes
                              it came as a shock
                              after so long confined to the dark
                              a torrent of cold water
                              pouring over me
                              rivers of revelation
                              suddenly 
                              I realized all the things 
                              that I couldn’t see
                              the bars on my mind 
                              were destroyed in the downpour
                              the deluge tore them apart
                              the door opened and let in the light 
                              walking through, I found my new start
