Collecting the papers, Lana pushes hair behind her ear turning to give Louis a tight smile. The opening statements were read, the beginning of the case finally starting to unravel in the slightest.
"Do we have a first witness?" The judge asks scanning the room to see Parker nod raising his hand, he shoots Clark a sly smirk before extending his hand towards the benches behind them, "I ask that Rebecca Ferguson, please take the stand."
Louis watches an old friend approach the wooden stand, she wore a red shirt tucked into black slacks, her hair styled perfectly into a bun wearing very little jewelry for the time being. "Now, Ms. Ferguson, did you know the plaintiff personally?"
"I did."
"Please explain to the jury how you knew Mr. Styles," Parker commands motioning to the twelve-people awaiting any real information to take down. Rebecca clears her throat leaning further down to speak clearly into the microphone, "I knew Harry from the X-factor, we were good friends.""Did you know the defendant?"
"I did. Louis was also on the X factor." Parker nods as if this was new information for him to hear.Louis watches as Lana is staring intensely at the paper before her, the pen writing every other word she deemed important.
"Would you say the defendant and Mr. Styles were close?" Louis can't help but squirm, he feels his face become flushed and dropped as he worries about her answer, "I agree with that statement." She offers her lips parting after the words had been said, "Right, did you ever witness any acts that looked beyond friendly?" Parker pushes furrowing his eyebrows, mirroring Rebecca, "I um," Her first stutter throughout the whole conversation, Louis feels his heartbeat speed at this, did anyone else realize it too?
"No." Parker's left-hand hangs in the air, his eyes narrowed as the answer didn't go in his favor. "Ms. Ferguson tell me, how often did you spend time alone with either Mr. Styles or Mr. Tomlinson?"
"I spent more time with Harry," She replies, "Is this because you didn't like Mr. Tomlinson?" Lana stands from her chair gracefully, though barks "I object to the question. It is leading. Rule 611 prohibits leading to direct examination. Counsel is telling the witness what to say." The judge scans both lawyers before her, eyes glazing Rebecca lastly, "Sustain, rephrase the question."
