Katherine’s alarm went off, groaning, she rolled over and hit the off button. She reached over and turned her phone on. Waiting for it to reboot she sludged over to her closet and picked out a pair of skinny jeans and a plain black shirt, with a red flannel to wear over it. Getting dressed, she reached for her phone and saw that she had a message from some unknown number. Scanning over it she read. ‘Unknown Number: Bonjour Katherine! Sorry if i happened to wake you!’ Confused she tried to think who would be texting her, then it hit her. The girl at the party, Allura. Responding, she typed, ‘Katherine: Bonjour Allura!  you didn’t wake me so dont feel bad. When do you start school?’

Going to the bathroom Katherine brushed her teeth and hair, then headed down stairs to fix herself some breakfast. She changed the number in her contacts to Allura so she wouldn’t be confused when they were texting.

‘Allura: Today actually! I have to get ready! à plus tard!’ Shrugging Katherine poured herself a bowl fruity pebbles. She then made a group chat with Shiro, Hunk, Katie, and Lance.

‘Katherine: Would y’all mind if i brought someone new to hang with us?’ She honestly didn’t think they would care, but she remembered the shock of when the boys had said they invited Lance, and decided to give them a heads up.

‘Shiro: that’s fine, glad to see your socializing.’

‘Hunk: what poor soul are you about to torture ?;)’

Shiro and Hunk were the only two that responded and she figured it was best that Katie didn’t question it. Seeing as how she might not like who it was. Why Lance didn’t responded was beyond her.

Finishing her cereal Katherine headed out the door without saying anything seeing as how everyone was asleep. Texting Allura, she told her to meet them at the gym doors where everyone hangs out in the mornings.

As she walked down her driveway, she noticed that Katie was already there. Katherine felt a little hurt that Katie hadn’t waited for her like usual.

“Hey, what’s up?” She asks as she approached Katie.

Startled, she turned around. “Oh hey, I was just thinking about last night.”

“Really? Why? What happened that I missed?” Katherine was anxious to know.

Smiling slyly, Katie answered, “Well I went outside after you two started to dance, Shiro followed me, which means that he was watching me instead of being in the kitchen like he said. Then when I got home he texted me and it was just nice.”

“Ok.” was all Katherine said.

The bus pulled up and the girls took their normal seats in the middle of the bus. The part traveled in silence, both lost in their own thoughts. Once the bus pulled up to the school, the high schoolers filed off. Katie and Katherine went to the spot near the gym doors and sat down to wait for everyone else to show up. After a while later Allura comes up looking lost.

“Bonjour! Ma camarades de classe!” she says with cheer.

Katie looks up and a look of shock and silent loathing comes across on face, although you would have to know her to tell the later part.

“Bonjour. Comment allez-vous?” Asks Katherine as Katie looks between the two of them with a confused expression.

“ Très bein, ca va?” asked Allura.

“Grand, je suis très heureux d'être ici.” said Katherine only half lying.

“Would someone like to tell me what you all are saying and why she is here.” wondered Katie.

“First answer: she was asking how i was and i answered her, second answer: she’s here because I invited her and if you would look at your messages you would know that.” That shut up Katie.

“Did I walk in on something? Should I leave?” Lance jokes as he approached the three girls. Katie gets up and starts to leave when suddenly Shiro comes up and wraps his arms around her. Katie yelps a little from shock. Katherine snickers. Allura looks between the two of them and a plan forms in her mind, to get on the good side of Katie, she’s not oblivious to the loathing and the current discomforting look that Katie was sending her way. Smiling to herself, Katherine thinks of what Katie had told her while they were waiting. Lance comes around and stands next to Katherine, close enough to touch her. Katie let out a little laugh at the sight. Katherine shot a glare in her direction.

    “What’s wrong?” Katie teases.

Lance looks between the two girls and so does Allura.

“Shut up.” Katherine says, a blush starting to form on her cheeks.

Lance starts to shift, feeling uncomfortable.

“Stop it you two.” scolded Shiro like they were children.

Katie just smirks but let’s it go. Katherine smiles at her with an evil like grin. Finally Hunk shows up a little out of breath.

    “Are you ok?” asks Allura.

Hunk glances at Allura and nods. “I have some good news.” he says excitedly, but before he explain, the bell rang and everyone left to go their classes. Lance walked beside Katherine as they headed to their first class. Hesitantly, Lance asked the question that he had wanted to ask Katherine since the party last night when they had danced,

“Will you go out with me.” He said it in such a rush that it took Katherine a moment to understand what he had just asked.

In a daze it took a bit to answer, and looking at Lance’s face she could tell that he thought that she was going to say no.

“Yes.” she said with a big grin on her face. They had just reached the classroom, and as they took their seats Katherine pulled out her phone texting Katie.

‘Guess what just happened?????’  she hit the send button and was so excited that she felt as if her heart would burst outside of her ribs.

‘What? And no, I will not guess.’ replied Katie almost instantaneously.

‘He asked me out!!!!!!’ she sent this along with five emojis.

‘What did you say???? You better have said yes! Or I swear I will push you down a flight of stairs.” threatened Katie.

‘Of course I said yes! Who do you think i am?’ she texted back.

‘I think you’re you, and have trouble admitting your feelings, which most likely would lead to you saying no to his offer. So i’m proud of you.’ insulted Katie sort of.

Katherine put her phone down and continued to work on her assignment. Lance leaned over trying to copy off of her work. Grinning she pushed him away, “Do your own work you lazy bum.” He reluctantly did.
