I'm running. I frantically search for a way out. There is nothing, no lights, no road, nothing. I stop to catch my breath.
"How is there not a road?" I ask.
Nobody responds. What did I expect? I mean, I am lost and alone.
I start to go over the events that had taken place so far. I went hiking in woods, saw an animal in need so I went after it. Everything after that is blur. I figured that I must have been out here for at least 16 hours. I was hungry and dehydrated.
It must be at least 3 in the morning. I decided that I should probably set up shelter and get some sleep. I find an opening in the woods and construct the best bed I possibly could. As soon as I put my head down I am out for the night.
When I wake up there is a buzzing sound all around. I search for where the noise is coming from but I find nothing. This must be the effects of dehydration. I knew I needed to find water fast. So I run.
The running never stops. I never find a source of water. It is starting to take a toll on my body. I fall and pass out. When I wake up it is night. The darkness surrounds me. In the distance I can see a figure. A man? An animal? Something?
"Hello, is anyone there?" I question.
The dark figure disappears into thin air. I was speechless. I couldn't believe what my eyes had just witnessed. But then the buzzing sound returns, but this time it is louder than I can bear. I scream and cover my ears unable to think. The sound gets louder and louder, filling my insides, shaking my core. My ears begin to bleed from the noise.
The noise stops. As soon as it does I run. The world around is dark. I can't see anything. Not even my feet running on the cold wet leaves on the ground. The trees wave as I run by them. A whistling sound can be heard now, echoing all around me. The earth begins to breath underneath me, shaking the world. I stumble and fall to my knees. A branch pierces through my hand. I rip it out and continue to run.
The world begins to break around me. The earth begins to crumble underneath my feet. I fall into the void. My ankle snaps. I look down and see an animal trap locked onto my foot.
"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!"
I fall to the ground trying to get the device off of my foot. It doesn't budge. It is agonizing pain. Crimson red blood gushes out of the wound, covering the leaves in its tracks. I continue to try to get out but nothing happens. I knew that I needed to get out of it if I wanted a chance of surviving. But how could I possibly get out?
"Cut of your foot Hunter," I hear a voice say.
"Who said that?"
"Cut of your foot Hunter, it is the only way you will get out."
"I can't."
"Yes you can, just pull until it comes off."
"No," I answer.
"It is the only way, you know this Hunter."
I cry as I realize that the voice speaks the truth. This was the only way that I was gonna have a chance of living. But I need to work fast.
I grab onto a tree near me. I brace myself for the pain. I begin to pull. A warmth covers my foot. I look at the trap, bone sticks out of my skin. I stop, vomit blows out of me. The pain is too much. But I continue.
The blood keeps gushing out, the pain intensifies. My skin stretches inhumanly until it rips off. The muscles in my leg tear as I pull off my foot. Then a snap, the trap closes completely, my foot is off. I look and see my foot sitting in the trap. What is done is done. I pull off my shirt and wrap it around my leg near the amputation to help cut off the blood flow.
I stand and try to walk. Pain shoots through my whole body. But I must continue. I must survive. So I continue, continue on my search out of this hell. I stumble around and fall. The world gets dark, the noise returns. My ears ooze blood until they don't. My eyes close.
I'm running. I frantically search for a way out. There is nothing, no lights, no road, no nothing. I stop to catch me breath.
