“No, alright, you win this time.” Hermione said laughing trying to take her thumb of Malfoy’s.
Malfoy was still in her room enjoying his time with Hermione. They were playing thumb wrestling at the moment, some sort of muggle game where the two opponents try to squash the thumb of their opponent. Hermione won three times in a row until Malfoy wouldn’t let go of her hand.
“Nuh-ah! Its alright, you won three times already.” Malfoy said, still holding Hermione’s hand. Hermione, who was not realizing it, giggled and gave Malfoy a tongue-out.
“So anyway,” Malfoy said letting go of Hermione and then slumping on her bed. “How are you with that Weasel?”
“Don’t call him Weasel, Malfoy. His name’s Ron.” She said peevishly.
“Yeah, whatever. I heard you two shouting at each other at lunch.”
“Oh, you heard that.” She replied her face falling. “I don’t know what’s up with him lately, I mean, his acting weird since this morning.”
“Let me guess who is he calling ferret.” Malfoy said.
“Yeah, it’s you. He’s really angry about us looking each other for one moment. And he let it out during Transfiguration.”
“Really? You know, you wouldn’t catch my eye if you didn’t look at me.” he said teasingly.
“That was nothing,” Hermione began guiltily, “I just … I mean …”
“Don’t worry, I’ll just be getting used to it now.”
“Why were you looking at me anyway?”
“I just like watching how your eyes twinkle and your hair flows.” He said straightly without even a slight change of tone.
Hermione blinked and turned around to look at Malfoy. “What?”
“You know, for a girl like you, I didn’t think you would be deaf.”
“No, Malfoy, did you really mean that … ?” But Malfoy pulled her close making her mount on top of his chest. Her face was so close to his that she could feel his hot breath that smelled strongly of cinnamon.
Malfoy turned making him on top of Hermione, then smiled and leaned close to her ear.
“Do I look like I’m joking?” he said in a voice barely more than a whisper.
Hermione was breathing heavily, she was sweating cold. What the hell is happening? This looks like she’s flirting with Malfoy, but anyway, no one would see them, and she’s very upset with Ron. Nothing is wrong as long as this remains a secret.
“Well …” she bit her lip. Malfoy stood up and smirked.
“I need to go, Granger. It’s getting late. I haven’t started my potions essay yet. Bye beautiful.” He said then turned, opened the door, exited, closed it, leaving Hermione breathless and annoyed on the spot.
Hermione stood up and sighed. What’s up with him, anyway? She thought then sighed.
She was walking alone to the Great Hall for breakfast. Sure, Malfoy asked him to go with him but she said no. Anyway, she wanted to sort things out with Ron today. She hates fighting with him. After all, they were best friends first. All those happy memories were shared with him. determined to forget what happened last night, she walked silently on the Great Hall careful enough not to lean a glance at the Slytherin table as she passed.
