I furrowed my brows as I opened my eyes. This pace was not home. It was not my room. I looked around and saw trees as high as the sky, the sun shining like a diamond up in the sky. The sound of birds chirping on the branches mixed in with the gentle voice of the person singing. I took a deep breath and swallowed the knot in my throat before making my way further into this unknown pace.

The voice saw so soft and beautiful yet it held so much pain and heartache. I heard the person curse as their voice cracked at the end of the verse and I bit the inside of my cheek as I listened to them. The sound of a guitar staring up again filled the sim car before the person began singing again.

Why does it feel like I heard this of before? I frowned as the lyrics continued before my eyes widened in realization. It was from a video my dad had shown me a few times over the years while growing up. It was a song my mom used to sing to me when I was little and while he was sick. I felt my throat close up as the voice finally registered into my head.

My breath caught in my throat as I crossed the tree line and my eyes landed on one of the most beautiful human beings I've ever seen. He was tall with pale skin and was dressed in all white. Animals of all sizes sat at his feet listening to him sing. He looked up and smiled but not once did he stop signing. His eyes, the same colored eyes that I had. He was even more beautiful in person and up close.

I licked my lips as my eyes burned with tears as his voice pierced my chest making my heart break. I had finally started to accept the fact that I'd never meet him and yet there he was. Sitting across from me, just a few feet away, his eyes on me, his lips singing softly as his fingers strummed the guitar on his lap.

In all of my 17 years of living, I had fantasies of meeting my mother, meeting the one that brought me into this word and it finally happened. Just as I was about to give up on it. He raised a brow as his lips turned into a smile but not once did he stop singing.
