Jaylin's POV

"Oh honey! I missed you, come in!" My mom said.

Jack and I walked into my parents house. "Hi mom. This is my friend Jack." I informed her while giving her a a hug.

"Well hello! I'm Gerogeanna and this is James, Jaylin's father." She said while shaking his hand.

After hellos we sat in the living room making small talk while dinner was being finished.

Jack's POV

"So what brings you here Jack?" Jaylin's mom asked.

"Oh um, well me and Jaylin are really good friends and I guess she wanted me to meet her family." I stuttered. But her parents were the ones that nothing could get by.

"Um actually I have something to say." Jaylin started, "I first met Jack around the time I started hanging out with Alex but during this tour me and Jack became really close. And well, one night..." Jaylin lost her voice there.

"So your pregnant?" her mother asked, tone changing completely. Her father just stared at his plate, clinging to the sliver wear in his hands.

"Yes." Jaylin said putting her head down. I've never seen her like this. she was scared like a little girl handing her patents a report card with a bad grade on it.

"Is he good to you?" Her father suddenly spoke up.

"Yes. He'll make a great father." She said smiling at me.

"How far along?" Gorgeanna asked.

"3 months today." Jaylin answered.

After that dinner was a awkward silent. Jaylin and I quickly finished dinner and say our goodbyes.

"Jack." James called out.

"Yes sir?"

"I would like to get to know you better. How does golf tomorrow at 8 sound?" He asked.

"I would love to."

On the car ride Jaylin seemed relived. I think it went well. But I can tell she still worried about it.

After getting settled down at the hotel I noticed Jaylin was still in the bathroom.

"Jaylin?" I asked knocking on the door. No reply. So I opened the door. And there she was in a towel just looking at herself in the mirror. I did a big sigh before walking over to her and starting to rub my hands over her back. Now it was her turn to sigh.

"What's bothering you?" I asked.

"Our parents. They smile and seem happy but I can see, they think we made a mistake." she answered.

I didn't really know what to say to that.

"I don't think so I think they're just... surprised."

She just turned around and hugged me. which I returned.

"Now get dressed and watch Adventure Time with me." I said before laying on the bed.

"Good morning sir." I said to James.

"Morning. I got you some clubs and I have lunch packed." he said.

He was a big man. 6 feet and hard expression on his face. He was quiet and always seem to look down on me. Jaylin said it was nothing personal because he was in the navy and he's like that to everyone. But it still made my insides tie itself into knots. I tried not to let it show.

The car ride there was made of small talk.

Most of the game was small talk too. But there was beer so that helped. And finally he started to ask questions about me and Jaylin.

"So two friends having a baby together? How does that happen?" he asked.

"Well I'd be lying if I said I didn't like your daughter." I said awkwardly.

"What do you want?" he asked again.

"What?" I questioned.

"A boy or a girl?" he said.

"Oh! Whatever she gives me will be more then enough." I said smiling at the thoughts of me with a baby boy or girl.

He asked me more but I don't really remember. Probably the buzz from the beer.
