"Come on, James... it's just a few things, then we can go for a walk in the park or something," I promise as I try to pull him out of the car.

"I don't like the mall," He states monotonously as he presses himself against the car so I can't pull him away.

"I don't like you," I tease and put my fingers through his belt loops. He looks down at me, as if he actually took that seriously. "It was just a joke... I love you, James..." I lean forward and kiss him, feeling his mouth form into a smile. "Now let's go."

"Only because I love you too," He mumbles as he starts walking quickly down the parking lot. I struggle to keep up with him. He stops abruptly at the stop sign, making me slam into the back of him. "It's a stop sign."

"It's for the drivers, not the pedestrians at the sidewalk, stupid," I shake my head and walk around him.

"You're being very mean today," He frowns and chases after me. We get into the mall through the food court and his face lights up. "Food! Is that on your list?"

"Will it get you to shut up and walk through the stores with me?" I laugh and pull my wallet out. He nods violently as we approach a Subway. We order sandwiches with cookies and start walking to my first store. "I need an outfit for picture day, James. The background's bright blue this year, so if you see anything that goes with that, let me know."

His face scrunches up with annoyance. "That's highly unlikely."

I snap my head around the stand of clothes. "What did you just say?" I threaten, poking a hanger at him. He puts his hands up in mock surrender. "Yeah, that's what I thought."

I finally find a cute outfit in a color that would match the background, but also look good on me. We find the fitting rooms, and I get the key to get in one. James follows behind me and I push him out as he tries to come in.

"Nice try, James," I laugh and he blushes, sitting in the hallway. I pull on the dark blue shirt, a long sleeve low-cut shirt that is open at the shoulders. It fits me great, matches the dress code, and would look alright with the background. Awesome, first try. "Wanna see?" I ask, stepping out of the fitting room.

James slightly gapes at it on me. Normally I wear t-shirts and sweaters, so it was a little fancy and revealing for my normal taste. "Y-you look nice," He blushes and points at my bright red pants from my previous outfit I wore here. "I don't know much about fashion, but I don't think you should wear it with those."

I try not to giggle but I can't help it. "Loser," I attempt to say seriously, so he doesn't get a big ego from making me laugh. "Okay, next store! I need a black dress for my band concert!"

He groans under his breath and follows me out to the registers.
