*FLASHBACK BEFORE 6 YEARS*

Imagine a socially awkward girl. Imagine her first day in college. Imagine her to be the only girl sitting in the seminar hall for orientation. Imagine her to be surrounded by a lot number of guys which would have been a jackpot if the majority were Chris Evans type and that was impossible...

Pictured enough?

Well hello that girl is me. And i felt a mixture of emotions from oh my god i'm alone with so many boys *cheers* to oh my god i'm alone with so many boys! *terror*

Was there any alien invasion i was unaware of that clean swiped all the girls from my college??

Thankfully it's Teacher's day and i don't have any class to attend other than the function held by the 3rd yr student.

As i had already guessed the orientation was boring. From the director giving speech to the last fresher giving intro. Throughout the session i patiently watched out for some girls to attend the session. Fortunately i saw some after stepping out of the hall but they're out of my league. You know those typical girls from any high school drama. The make up dolls...

"Hey"

I turned around to notice a guy waving at me. I felt a bit nervous. You see i'm not good with talking to people and definitely not guys!
He walked up to me.

"You are a first year student, right?"

"Yup"

"CSE?"

"Bingo"

"Oh hey i'm Sid. I'm your classmate!"

"I'm Anees. Nice to meet you!"

We shared a handshake. Stealthily i started to analyze him. part by his looks and part by the way he talked. Well he seemed pretty much well dressed and smart. Polite too. I didn't care much about his looks. I guess he is average but who cares about that! As long as he is amicable to decent limit its okay.

We walked together all the way to the auditorium chatting about our background. You know like school home etc. The auditorium was filled with students. By the looks of it i think the function hasn't started yet. The stage had some banners as its background with quirky doodle art and quotes. I bet all of them plagiarized from internet. The vibes i got from the students, i don't think they would like to invest time in these stuffs at all.

"Let's go a bit ahead to the front" I asked Sid.

He nodded in agreement.

As we walked i felt all the eyes on us. They're curiously examining us. From head to toe. Just like the butchers look at chicken.

Uh huh.....seniors!

I watched Sid shifting uncomfortably from my side to my back. So much for that ragging hullabaloo...

"Let's go from here!" He whispered.

I couldn't help rolling my eyes at him.

Seriously dude!? You are eighteen!

"You go! I will catch you later!"

He didn't waste anytime in protesting. He was out of my sight on my second breath. I took a seat. I still felt people scrutinizing me.

Why me!?

Then it stuck me. I was the only fresher present here! I was damn sure there was no familiar face present here!
And i think i know the reason...all this myth about ragging shit. I had seen some hoardings and poster in the campus.

"Hey 1st yr?"

I turned to see a formally dressed guy.

"Yeah"

"Go on the stage!" He motioned for me to move towards the stage. The auditorium went silent peculiarly.

I took a deep breath and dropped my bag on a seat. I walked up to the stage valiantly. Dadda's girl i am...

"What's your name?" Someone shouted from the crowd.

"I..."

"Yo girl u know college doesn't buy microphone for decoration" and i heard people laugh at me.

Yeah sure it is present there to shove it in your da-assh....

I picked up the microphone from the stand. I held it a bit closer to my lips.

"I..."

"What I!? No greeting your seniors?? Do ya need a chaperone on your 1st day?"

Yeah thankfully i inherited some but not to display to jerks...

"A very good morning to all my RESPECTED seniors standing in front of me. I'm Anees Roy a 1st yr CSE student"

They stayed silent for a few moments.

"Anything else?"

"Stop being so sarcastic watch your tongue!"

"I can't watch my tongue unless i'm standing in front of a mirror which none of you are!" I said sarcastically.

And they all scowled at me.

"Don't bother I'm leaving already!"

And i took steady steps towards the exit.
