After yet another argument with his father, Adrien had hopped out his bedroom window as Chat Noir and soared through the night.

He was running across the rooftops of the beautiful city until he located a light on in the room of a familiar building: the Dupain-Cheng bakery.

Maybe I'll pay Marinette a visit as Chat Noir for once, other than it being for a rescue mission or love life problems, he decided.

Marinette had her cellphone up to her ear as she pet her new calico kitten. It gave her a little mew as it tried to scramble out of her lap.

"Since when did you have a cat?" Alya questioned over the other line. "I adopted her right after school. I was inspired and found her at the animal shelter so I decided to give her some love." Marinette shook her head. She knew she shouldn't of looked at those homeless pets when she was with Chat Noir and Léa Jean.

She had secretly gotten attached to the kitten and later came back for it. With the permission of her parents, of course.

Marinette heard a sudden tap on her window. She shrieked with surprise when she located her superhero friend behind the glass with a silly grin. Chat Noir has knocked at her front door before, though never her window. She would've shooed him off, but her parents weren't home. She already forgot about Alya.

"Marinette!"

"Huh??"

"What is it??"

"Oh, uh...I thought I lost my kitten," Marinette lied. "Look, I gotta go, bye."

She hung up before her bff could say anything, then marched over to her window and wildly swung it open. Unfortunately, Chat didn't duck in time and had gotten smacked in the face by the glass pane. Marinette covered her mouth when she saw his crumpled body sprawled across her balcony.

"I'm...so sorry...A-Are you okay?" She gasped in between muffled laughs.

Chat sat up and rubbed his sore nose.

"Peachy," he muttered.

"Sorry," she laughed again. Chat stood up then climbed through her window.

"Hey! That's trespassing!"

"It's not if you're endangered. I'm here to save you from a dull evening," he grinned to her in her bedroom. Marinette immediately tensed and smashed a pillow into his face with cat like reflexes. It took him by surprise as he got knocked on the ground again.

"Ow, what was in that, bricks?! Why-"

"You're invading my privacy and you better keep your eyes shut or you'll be sorry!" She threatened. He obeyed in fear of her throwing something else at him again and heard the sound of paper tearing off of the walls.

Marinette crammed her magazine clippings of the famous model, Adrien Agreste, into a dresser drawer praying Chat Noir didn't see her embarrassing obsession. She peered over her shoulder and saw his face buried into the pillow she chucked at him.

"Don't you dare peek."

"Wasn't planning on it, m'la-er, princess," his muffled voice corrected into the pillow. Her confidence and sass reminded him so much of Ladybug and it was enough to almost make him slip up. What happened to the shy, sweet girl he went to school with?

"Okay," she said. "You can look now."

Chat noticed pieces of tape all over her wall where posters of some kind had once hung. He decided not to question it and stretched. "I'm hungry. Got anything in that toasty bakery of yours?"

"It's for business only and my parents aren't home, Chat," she scolded. He playfully swatted his hand. "I'm sure you have a couple free samples lying around somewhere." Marinette sighed. "Well...there's probably some snacks in the cupboard or something," she gave in.

He grinned and rubbed his hands together, but froze when he heard a meow. His eyes widened when he looked down to discover he had almost stepped on a kitten.

"Oh!" Marinette exclaimed and rushed down to pick up the kitten. She wanted to slap herself for forgetting about her. "You little mischievous thing!"

"When did you get a kitten?" Chat inquired while raising an eyebrow. "After school. She's such a piece of work, always crying for food. She kind of reminds me of someone," she implied, giving him a knowing look. Chat only smirked before Marinette led him down the ladder with her kitten in her arms.

They made their way into the kitchen and Marinette gestured to the pantry. "Food is in there. I'll be right back, I have to feed her," she explained and pointed to her pet. "Wait, you didn't name her?" Chat crossed his arms. She shrugged. "I haven't even had her for a whole day and I have no idea what I'd call her." He reached out and stroked the calico kitten she was cradling.

"Brown, white, black, beige....how about cookie dough?" He suggested with a smile. Marinette had a puzzled face. "...Cookie dough?" "Why not? Don't you see the resemblance?"

She blinked at the kitten. It mewed to her trying to crawl out of her grasp. She realized he was right, and smiled at the idea. "I'll think about it," she mused. "I'll be right back."

After she gave Cookie Dough some milk, she caught the time on the living room clock. Her parents were supposed to be home in fifteen minutes.

Marinette scurried back to the pantry and found Chat Noir indulging something out of a can with a spoon. She pinched her nose and her face wrinkled at the smell. "Ugh! Chat, what are you eating?"

He lifted his head and licked his lips with pleasure. "Tuna," he answered with a huge grin. She furrowed her eyebrows in confusion. "We don't have tuna."

Chat appeared clueless, then slowly began to rotate the nearly empty can toward him.

The label read Friskies.

His jaw dropped when the realization hit him. Oh my god...did I just...?!

The can clattered against the floor and rolled into the kitchen. Cookie Dough scampered up to it and hungrily began to lick it clean. Loud, hysterical laughter filled up the room. It snapped Chat out of his shock and had him staring at Marinette, who was on her knees in a laughing fit. Tears started to seep out of her eyes as she clutched her stomach.

He wasn't sure whether to be stunned with the fact that he accidentally downed an entire can of catfood, or that he...enjoyed it. He was still speechless and pressed his lips together in embarrassment.

Under different circumstances, Marinette's obnoxious laughs would have him laughing as well, but...instead he could feel his face catching fire.

The sound of the bell ringing from the front door of the bakery caused her laughs to falter. Her parents were back a few minutes early. Just when Marinette's eyes had finally met with Chat's to signal he had to leave, she broke down into another fit of giggles.

Without a word, he dashed up to her bedroom and dove out her window before propelling himself off of her balcony. Unfortunately, the wind didn't do much to cool him off as he continued to sprint across the rooftops of Paris.
