"Felix what on earth are you doing now?"
The baby serval laughed as he continued throwing his "cookie dough" around the kitchen while sitting on top of the fridge.
"Muuuum, Felix is on the fridge again!" I yelled out, keeping my eyes on the toddler before he moves somewhere else.
I hear something drop in the next room before i glance over and see mother running into the room, with her craft apron on and a bobble of thread dangling behind her, trailing on the floor. "Felix Russel Cartonn! Get down from there before you hurt yourself." Mum shrieked, rushing over to the fridge, holding her arms out.
Felix giggled and babbled as he threw down the large bowl and it landed on mums head, covering her in the fishy smelling substance. She groaned and shook her hands, trying to clean her self at least a little bit. She reached up and grabbed Felix, pulling him down just as he shoved his mixture filled hands into his mouth, enjoying whatever it is that was in the bowl.
After an hour or so of hard scrubbing and buckets upon buckets of water, the kitchen was finally clean again, and Felix was back in his playpen, happily playing with his blocks, building random words that make no sense. Peace was restored throughout the house, and finally it was quiet.
Not for long.
A loud banging and crashing came from outside, followed by the sound of rushing water. I followed mum through the house and she rushed out through the back door and into the garden, where a confusing scene was laid out before us.
A castle, or what was a castle made of now soaking wet, cardboard boxes was taking up half the yard, while on the otherside, the play equipment was stacked up to form a barricade, and the hose was snaking around, sending water spraying everywhere.
In the middle of the mess, three boys were sprawled out, soaked and covered in sopping wet cardboard armour and twine. I recognised them as Alexander by his rainbow mane, James by his pure white tail, and Brandon, by his tiny fluffy tail.
It seemed that the crashing was the sound of the castle finally collapsing under its own weight, which started the final battle, ending in a draw.
I huffed and crossed my arms.
"Idiots."
