Seven years later
The sun was bright as it filtered through the baby blue curtains and lit up the bedroom. I rolled over, pulling the blankets with me as i tried to avoid the warm light.
After sleeping for around another hour, The sun had moved, and there was no spot on my bed where it did not reach its warm rays. I sighed before opening my eyes and pulling myself up into a seated position. My lemon fur was ruffled and sticking up in every direction. I stepped out of the bed, and turned around so that i could pull the blankets back up to where they should be.
I shuffled out of my bedroom and down the hall, trying to avoid making the floorboards beneath my paws creak and groan. I reached the bathroom and pushed open the door, allowing the cold air to blow in through the window and into my fur. The cold tiles made me tingle as i walked over to the shower.
The shower was welcoming and warm, and the water helped to tame my fur, making me look a lot smaller then i actually was. Have you ever seen a wet pomeranian? Well thats basically how i looked right now, like a drowned rat. I conditioned my fur and began to brush out any knots that had formed overnight.
By the time i had finished brushing, I heards footsteps and doors from out in the hall, which made me believe that everyone else must have been starting to wake up and get ready for the day. I turned off the taps, and instantly grew cold, as my wet fur provided no insulation in its current state. I walked over to the sink and picked up a towel from the neat pile beside it. After wrapping myself up to try and try sime of my body, i opened the cabinet below the sink and pulled out a hair dryer to help speed up the time consuming process.

Sitting down at the table, i pulled my plate closer to me, and piled up pancakes on top of it. I picked up my fork and stabbed it into the top, sending warm syrup streaming down the sides, and pooling at the bottom. I glanced over to the fridge, where Alexander, my adoptive brother, was "grazing" or in other words, eating a bit of everything he could get his hooves on.
"Alex, you know you will have to go for a huge jog to work all that off again?"
He huffed and closed the fridge, pulling the roll of honeyoats out of his mouth before speaking. " yeah yeah marmite, I work out enough anyway I'll just do a little extra today."
He put the roll back in his mouth, and walked back out the kitchen towards the back door, his arms full of different "health" foods. I turned and continued to eat my pancakes before i had to get ready for school.
I walked back up the stairs and to my room, hurrying over to my wardrobe and flinging its doors open. I pulled out a pair of denim shorts and an oversized tan knitted sweater. As i put them on, i walked over to my vanity and picked up my hairbrush, and began brushing my now dry fur into a more organised mess, not forgetting to brush my long tail. Just before i was finished I heard my mum yell out that the bus was here, so i shoved my brush into my bag and ran out of my room and down the stairs, almost tripping at the end. I stopped to reach up on my tiptoes and kiss mum on the cheek before rushing to the bus and leaped aboard just as they were about to leave.
I stood at the front of the bus, lurching forward as the bus squealed and started moving down the street. Looking around, I saw that all the bus seats were full, aside from the uncomfortable one directly behind the driver and next to the teacher on duty, Mr Hamvich. I looked around one more time, hoping there was at least one other seat anywhere else, but I knew i would have to deal with my loss.
I sighed and moved to sit down next to the teacher, at least it wouldnt take too long to get to school.
I lied.
The bus slowed down a block away from the school stop. I looked out the front window as to find out why, and i saw a huge, rusted yellow sign saying DETOUR in large black letters. I groaned and flung myself back into my seat, resting my head and my arms onto the rest in front of my seat. The bus turned down the street, and continued on the detour route, adding an extra twenty minutes onto our normal route time.
I heard the other students quietly celebrate as we reached the rusty metal gates of the school. The buses brakes screech as we pulled in to a halt. With the push of a button the doors pull open and the students stream out and spread as they race towards the entrance of the school, in fear of being late.
The main hall was crammed with students of all ages, hurrying to get their stuff and get into their first class of the day. I tried getting to my locker, but as i reach it i feel a push, and suddenly the floor is in my face and i fade to black as i feel my body hitting the hard concrete flooring.
