I had recently joined a club at my school, the literature club. The members were just me, Sayori, two other girls named Yuri and Natsuki, and the club leader Monika. Right now, I was at home in my room, ready to go to bed, but not quite yet...
We had been assigned to write a poem, after Monika found one by Natsuki. She seemed pretty embarrassed after Monika had just took her poem like that, but the idea Monika had was actually a fun one. I was sitting at my desk on a chair, pen in my hand, and ready to write my thoughts and imagination onto a piece of paper.
I wasn't really sure what to write, so i decided to write something a bit romantic but kinda cute. I wasn't really sure if it was good, but I wrote something I thought that sounded good, checked for spelling mistakes, and called it a day, and went to bed.
The next day after classes, I went straight to the literature club so we all could meet again. I went to the club room, with my book bag in hand, and opened the door to the club room. There, I saw Sayori already there, talking to Monika in the corner.
"Oh, Hi _____!" She said, with a sweet smile to me. " Hi Monika, nice to see you again." I said back, and waved a little to her with an awkward smile. Sayori bounced her wait to me, humming a happy tune. "Did you remember to write a poem last night?" She asked, still humming. " Yeah, I have it in my book bag, how about you?" "Yep! It's also in my book bag."
When Sayori was done speaking, I heard the club room door open, which startled me a bit. "Hey, I'm here with the stupid poem..." It was Natsuki, her pink hair flowed through the air, and it was kinda beautiful. "Hi Natsuki! Did you bake anymore cupcakes?" Asked Sayori cheerfully. "W-Well, I-I did but... It's not for you!" Said Natsuki, a blush spread across her cheeks.
"Oh, who are they for?" Asked Sayori, interested. "I-I!" Said Natsuki, and was blushing more and more for every second. "I-IT'S NOT YOUR BUSINESS!!" Said Natsuki, and walked over to the club room closet. "Oh well, there goes my chance of getting one~" Said Sayori and looked a bit awkward after Natsuki's heated attitude. Of course, I walked over to Natsuki, wanting to hang out with her again like yesterday.
"So, how was it?" Asked Natsuki and looked at me, waiting for a reply. "How was what?" I asked, forgetting something I couldn't remember. "The manga of course!" She said, angry. "Oh right, Parfait Girls? I read the whole manga yesterday at home, like you wanted me to." I said, remembering her request from yesterday.
"And you didn't bend the spine, right?" Natsuki said, looking at me seriously. " No, you can have it back now if you want." "Sure, hand it over!" She said, blushing slightly. I didn't question it to much, but after about five minutes, we were reading the nest volume of Parfait girls, volume 2 to be exact.
"Oh look! This is the chapter were they all go shopping, and fight over this one skirt that's on sale!" Said Natsuki and pointed at the panels with her finger. " But in the end, it only fits Minori, who picked it up first." Said Natsuki, as i finishing reading the last page of the chapter.
- TIME SKIP TO POEM SHARING, BROUGHT TO YOU BY YURI'S KNIFES -
Now it was time to share poems with everyone, my heart pounding a little bit. I was nervous, what if my poem was bad? "Hey _____, Let's share poems first, you are probably the one with least effort." Natsuki said rudely. "Uhh, sure." I said and handed her my poem, and handed me hers.
I read her poem to myself;
Monkeys can climbCrickets can leapHorses can raceOwls can seekCheetahs can runEagles can flyPeople can tryBut that's about it.
"Grr...." I hear Natsuki, making a frustrated noise. "What is it, is my poem bad?" I ask. Natsuki sighs, and breathes in. "N-No... I actually like it..." She said, defeated. "Aww, I liked yours too." I said, smiling at her.
- TIME SKIP, BROUGHT TO YOU BY NATSUKI'S CUPCAKES -
It was about time for me to walk home with Sayori, when Natsuki approached me, looking down into the floor. "You, me, in the hall, now." She said, and walked away outside of the club room with her book bag. "Hey Sayori, I'm gonna be a bit late, so I think you might have to walk home alone today...sorry." I said. "Oh no, it's fine!" Sayori said with a smile on her face.
I wait for a moment until every club member leaves, which doesn't actually take as long as I thought. I walked outside of the club room, with my book bag in my hand. I see Natsuki, looking a bit impatient, but she notices me and looks a bit angry. "Hmpf, you're late. But I'll forgive you this time." She says, like this has happened before.
She suddenly pulls a basket, with plastic over it to protect something. It started to smell like strawberries, and it was really nice. Suddenly, Natsuki carelessly held the bag and gave it to me quick. "H-Here... I-It's not like Imade it for you, or anything... I was baking yesterday, a-and I had extras left... S-so you can have the rest!" She said, blushing a bit. "Thanks Natsuki! I'll definitely eat these when I get home." I said, giving her a warm smile.
"Y-Yeah, you better..."
