Genji's POV

The first thing I could remember was this woman ... Angela from the casino. She was an angel, she floated down and took away my pain. I did not know how she did that, but it had been so incredible ... she had been so incredible.
Why had she healed me?
It fell like scales from my eyes. Hanzo. My own brother actually wanted to kill me. Basically he had. He left me behind. Shredded. To die.
I just wanted one thing ... revenge.
I opened my eyes and felt nothing of what had happened. As I looked around, I noticed the mountains. They were not exactly the same, but they resembled ours.
Where was I?
I was in a room ... Was it a hospital room? It was so modern.
I looked down at myself. My arm and legs were replaced. I remembered soberly what the doctor had said to me during the operation.
I moved my right arm and legs slowly.
It was strange.
It felt like a normal arm and normal legs, but they were not. They were not my right limbs. My right limbs were scattered in Hanamura.
Anger formed in my stomach.
He would have let me die there without even hesitating for a second.

I suddenly noticed a hand on my arm.
It was the woman. My facial features slipped and I did not understand anything anymore.
Why was she lying there by my bed?
Wait ... She operated on me ...
Carefully, I put my hand under her chin and pulled her head up a bit.
She was beautiful.
The feeling of resentment subsided and instead I wished to hold her in my arms.
The thought of everything that happened stabbed me in my heart. If she had not been there, I would be dead.
She looked drowsily at me and seemed to wrestle with her consciousness before she suddenly startled and sat down.
"Hello, um, Genji, I'm Doctor Angela Ziegler. You're in my hospital in Zurich. I found you and operated on you", she said and smiled softly, while her cheeks turning red.
"I don't understand all that. Some fragments of my memory are still there, but I do not know how you fit in the picture", I said confused.
"I'm a doctor and a scientist and I'm a member of the Overwatch, my mission at the casino was to overhear you for information about the Shimada clan, but then ...", she broke off.
I nodded knowingly.
"Then what happend at the casino was not real, right?", I asked after a short break.
Confused, she looked at me and tried to read from my facial expressions what I meant.
"I mean flirting", I finally added.
"We flirted?", she asked and got red cheeks.
"I already felt it as this", I answered, looking deep into her eyes. It was like I could lose myself in them.
She hesitated for a moment, but did not avoid my gaze.
"Thats just primary priority now, I need to talk to you about the armor and your new limbs. There are some settings we can still make to your liking, and I'd like to talk about designing a weapon and-", she said broke off in the middle of the sentence and just looked at me. I did the same and whispered softly "Thank you for saving my life", before kissing her cheek and stroking her hair.
"I... uhm ... You're welcome. I'm glad you survived it. I work as a doctor at a very young age and many do not trust me to do such surgeries and sometimes I start believing it myself, if I hear it over and over again."
I smiled and then saw a mirror hanging on the wall three meters behind her. When I saw myself, I hardly believed my eyes. My face was full of scars.
"Will you help me to the mirror, please?", I asked, prompting her to help me up to the mirror. It was awkward to walk on those legs, but it worked.
I let go of Angela and took off my shirt. I looked in the mirror. There were scars on my face, on my arm, all over my upper body.
It looked so disgusting.
This woman had to have incredible compassion for me to be touched by me.
"I could not let them completly disappear ... they were too deep, I'm sorry", she said guiltily.
"You did your best."
Just when I wanted to turn back, she said: "They fit you."
Incredulous, I looked at her and studied her. She did not mean it ironically or said it out of pity. Her eyes were sincere.
"They show what an incredibly strong person you are", she added, pulling a strand of hair behind her ear.
I was overwhelmed that she was so sincere and showed me a completely new side of things. Even if I was sure she was the only one who thought so.
Gently, she stroked one of the scars on my forehead, then ran her fingers over my cheek, down my neck, over my upper body, to my fingertips on my still-healthy arm.
My heart beat like never before.
"I'm sorry, I should not do that", she said, wanting to pull her hand away. But I held her tight and said, almost begging: "Please do not stop."
Her blue eyes were gleaming and her mouth was opend a bit confused.
Then ... there was a knock on the door and she started back.
"Yes?", she said loudly, clearly and carefully.
A man came in. He was muscular and had blond hair that slowly turned gray.
"Hello", he said, looking back and forth between us.
"Hello", I answered politely, bowing slightly.
"Hello, Captain Morrison ...", Angela said tense.
"I got your message Mercy and I've already requested and read the file. I'm glad the operation went well, did you explain everything to him?", the man asked.
"I thought your name was Angela?", I threw in confusion.
"Mercy is her code name or respectively her agent name, whatever you want to call it", the man answered.
"Yeah ... I just wanted to do it", Mercy said.
"Good then please", he said with a hand application in her direction and sat down at the table next to us on one of the chairs.
"This is a patient interview, you can not just be there and listen to what we're talking", said Angela, aghast.
"The research on the armor, the operation, the rescue and the room are at our expense. I do not care what I'm allowed to do, I'll just do it", the man said sternly.
She sighed and nodded. I felt there was a fight between the two. Was it because of the question in the jet? The condition? Or was there other reasons for that? I didn't know it.
Angela looked at me briefly again and then took a hand mirror from one of the cabinets. She turned me back to the mirror and held the hand mirror in front of my face so I could see my back.
"This is the compromise you have to go through. Your spine has several fractures of the fight. This mantle holds them together, it's almost like a plaster splint, only better. It also greatly enhances your ability to move, and you'll react faster, for example when you have to dodge. The support on the back of your neck takes some of the weight off the cervical spine and skull so you can't break your neck. Your joints are equipped with a software. You can adjust the move sensitivity, touch sensitivity, strength and balance. It's a bit more complex, but we can do some tests together. I've also removed some organs and replaced them with a variety of techniques that could be useful to you. A filtration system instead of the kidneys, a device that will be fed into your body in case of lack of nutrients and so on. But I have left you many of your natural organs, so we have to take care that they are protected. We have developed armor for this, but it needs to be adapted to your body. You can have a say in design and color choice. We animated some models on the PC, Athena access the Overwatch database and show it to us", she said and a hologram appeared in front of us with different models.
"Besides, we will attach a weapon of your choice to the suit", she added.
"This is really a lot at once", I said and Angela pushed a chair towards me, on which I sat down thankfully.
"We have some time, do not worry", she said, smiling sympathetically.
"Angela, I-", I started, but was interrupted by this captain. "It's either Doctor Ziegler, with optional salutation, or Mercy, understood ?!", he said threateningly.
"Jack, I ...", she wanted to say, but she too was interrupted.
"No, Mercy, we're here on business, not private, your name should not be spoken out of a stranger's mouth", he said sternly.
I looked at her anger and spoke quickly before the situation escalated.
"Doctor Ziegler, I would very much like to make some fine adjustments with them first and I also have some questions, but before I would like to have a day off, if it were possible", I said and looked at her promisingly.
"Of course", she said, getting up. "Jack, we'll be talking at the head office next week, and I've got enough hospital work to do before."
