The Crash

It happened in slow motion. I was in the back seat of the car. The fabric of the seats was a faded brown and there was a strawberry air freshener hanging on the center mirror. My older sister was driving and her best friend was sitting right next to her. The radio was on and blasting a new song that I don't know the name of. We were all singing to the lyrics of the unnamed song. We were so off key but it was still fun to try. We were heading to the mall because my sister and her friend were staring college in a few months. They wanted new outfits to wear to impress the cute boys. It was one of my best moments with my sister.

Then it all changed. We were passing an intersection. The light was green. We were the only car on the road heading this way. But then it happened. I turned my head to look out the window as we crossed the street. There was a gray truck heading right for us. It was so close and I knew that we were going to hit. But I couldn't move. Everything slowed down. It was like I was going into shock before anything even happened. I saw the driver and he looked to be screaming at us. He looked so shocked, pure fear edged into his entire face. I turned my head slowly to the front to tell my sister to go faster, but nothing came out. Then it came.

We were hit on the passenger side and then my world was upside down. We were in the air and then came crashing down to the ground. I screamed in fear. When we finally go to a stop the care was ups down. My window was smashed to pieces and there was red clouding my vision. There was red everywhere. The car seemed to be drenched in it. It was hard to move but I could. Then I noticed the smell. It smelt like gasoline. Instantly I looked to the front of the car. My sister was covered in blood. Her head was bleeding profusely. There was pieces of glass sticking out of her face and arms. I looked to her friend and froze. There was a huge shard of glass sticking out of her neck and the bone in her right arm was sticking out. I felt nauseous but I knew we needed to get out. The gas smell was getting stronger. I unbuckled my seat belt and fell onto my shoulder. I cried out in pain but moved to the window. I was able to crawl out of the window onto the glass covered road. I moved to my sister's side of the car and tried my best to get her seat belt off. She fell the the rough of the car with a thud.

There was so much blood and it was making me lose my grip on her arms. I was finally able to get her out of the car and to the side of the road. Then I ran over to her friend. I tried to get the seat belt off but it wouldn't budge. I was pulling on the seat belt with all my might but it wouldn't budge. I looked around to see what I could find to cut it. But then I saw the fire. It was traveling closer and closer to the car. I quickly grabbed a piece of glass and started sawing at the belt. Once she dropped I dragged her to my sister and then the car blew up.
