I reached out, closing the distance between us with my hand. His cheek... it was softer than most people would assume, which I rubbed gently. He simply grinned in response, an action that had never failed to make my heart flutter, which was portrayed perfectly by the red colour sprinkled onto my cheeks.
Katsuki put a hand over mine, and I moved cautiously closer, but he never once flinched. I pressed my forehead against his as our eyes met, and that familiar feeling of electricity flowed through my veins.
While a comfortable silence enveloped us, an extra thought hit me. I wouldn't... mind the fights, I felt like fights were part of what could make a relationship stronger. Relationship? It didn't matter, as long as at the end of the day I could end up cuddling with Katsuki. The way he'd search for warmth in his sleep and bury his face into the crook of my neck was the most adorable thing.
My thoughts were interrupted when I realised we were holding hands now, to my surprise. He looked at me, and I couldn't help but gulp. God, he made me nervous so easily. "Ei..." a nickname which I didn't mind having as long as it was uttered by him. I noticed the distance closing between us, as he ever so slowly leaned towards me, and I could hear the faintest echo, "I like you..."
Those words- I was convinced I could cry- no, die happy now.
"EIJIROU!"
'Huh...? What?' I opened my eyes, to my dismay. 'Damn dream...' You can't blame me for being disappointed- dreams nowadays just seemed to be a way to torture me by getting my hopes up, and then cutting it off mercilessly.
"EI!" The bangs on my door only increased in volume, but I would be able to recognise that intense voice from a hundred miles away! On schedule, my insides began to flutter a little as I stirred awake and tried to become aware of the situation.
Shit, I'm late.
I scrambled out of bed, falling quite gracefully (not) onto the floor before rushing out of my room to open the door, forgetting about my dishevelled appearance momentarily as I met a scowling Katsuki. "You seriously just woke up?" He could read me without me having to say anything. In response, I could only grin sheepishly, before turning back around to head to my room and get ready, letting him come inside and wait in the living room.
I didn't want to keep him waiting, and so I was quick in the bathroom and getting changed, being ready in four minutes flat.
"Thanks for waiting." I couldn't help but beam when he looked over at me and stood up, ready to head out. "You're so tardy today, shithead." He glared, but I knew he wasn't being too serious. I followed after him, locking the door behind me before we headed off to our usual waiting spot, a quaint bench made of wood.
I noticed his casual choice of clothing, though a detail in particular I noticed were his worn out jeans. They had a faded blue colour now, but I couldn't help but appreciate the fact that he had kept them to this day.
I would have offered to drive him, but at that moment my crimson beauty of a car was getting repaired, and so Bakugou said that someone would be able to pick us up, leaving us to converse while we waited.
Amidst our conversation, he wouldn't notice (as he never did), but I couldn't help but stare a little whenever he smiled or smirked, and even the quietest laugh would be able to put my feelings into quite a stir. Involuntarily, of course.
'And you've got a smile that could light up this whole town...' Unfortunately, the blessed sight of Bakugou's curt smile, even the slightest curve, it was a rare sight to behold even when we were alone.
