The boys had been playing gigs for moths and it was now December 13th. They hadn't celebrated Nikki's birthday and he was bummed about it but wasn't going to complain, I could see it in his eyes. My birthday is on the 15th and I knew the guys couldn't forget two birthdays that close to each other, or at least I hoped.

"Hey, Olivia!" Cheered Vince walking out of his shared room with Tommy.

"What's got you in such a chipper mood?" I asked giggling slightly.

"Oh, nothing," He said, grinning. I could tell he was hiding something but I just brushed it off as nothing.

"Hey guys?" Nikki greeted obviously questioning Vince's mischievous look which only got worse when he saw Nikki. Nikki and I exchanged glances that said, He is so up to something. Vince only giggled and walked away.

"Since when does he giggle?" Nikki asked just as confused as I was.

"Since now, I guess," I responded with a look of confusion.

The guys had forced Nikki and I to sit on the couch with excited looks besides Mick. They gathered on the other couch and looked Nikki and I dead in the eyes.

"Are you all fuckin' thirsty for the confusion in our eyes now?" I asked still extremely confused.

"Mick might be," Tommy said nudging Mick who was next to him.

"So, Nikki, Olivia, we have something for you," Tommy continued beginning to smirk like Vince was earlier.

"If it's your dicks, I'm pretty sure Nikki is the only one who wants them," I joked slapping Nikki on the back lightly.

"Not even I want that shit!" Nikki exclaimed leaning forward on the couch.

"Sadly for you, it's not," Vince said winking at the both of us.

"You'll either be really mad, excited, or both,"  Tommy said bouncing in his seat. Both Mick and Vince stood and went to retrieve something.

———

"What the hell is this?" Nikki asked staring down at the two large boxes in front of us that had been wrapped in brown paper.

"Open it and see," Mick said slightly bored of waiting. Without another word Nikki and I began to remove the paper from our boxes.

"Oh my god," Nikki and I mumbled together. We were both very happy but disappointed that they would waist so much money on us. We were close to broke but we made it work and this would not help. In front of us sat two B.C. Rich Warlock Basses. They were both customized, mine with a very detailed skull and crossbones and Nikki's with very real looking blood dripping down it, no doubt for stage. I played in a small band like Mötley and this would be great for stage.

"You guys must have waisted so much money on us," I said looking up at the three.

"We could have made what we have work," Nikki explained. We both knew that was a lie but we so desperately wanted to believe it. The basses Nikki and I had were falling apart and were beyond repair.

"It was nothing, and with the amount of hard work you two put into everything, you deserve it. Plus, you're both in bands, and that means you're gonna need an instrument that's not falling apart at the seams," Vince insisted.

"We thought that since your birthdays are so close we'd celebrate them together," Tommy said, smiling.

"No big parties though, we were all just gonna hang out with Olivia's band here," Mick said looking us dead in the eyes.
