Liam's POV

We had been on the bus for hours and hours, heading to our next concert in NYC. Usually we find something to do or just nap the whole way, and for a while that's what we did. But me, Niall, and Louis were awake now.

Niall was sitting down strumming his guitar, Louis on his laptop, and I was just spread out on the couch of our bus looking out the window. We had arrived in the city, but it was still a few minutes before we got to Manhattan.

I grabbed my iPhone and went on Twitter, where, as always, fans had tweeted me hundreds of times in the last 10 minutes. It amazes me how loyal they can be.

I turned my phone off, and closed my eyes, trying to get a quick 5 minute nap. But that was kind of impossible, with Niall's loud guitar and Zayn's snoring on the couch.

I sat up, and look into the streets of the city. It had been raining hard the entire day, and was just beginning to stop.

Harry walked in from his bunk with sleepy eyes and messy hair.

"Is it still raining?" He asked.

"Not really." I replied. "It's stopping now."

He rubbed his eyes. "Ugh, still so tired."

"Don't worry." Louis said from the corner. "As soon as we get off the bus the fans will wake you up." He chuckled.

We drove right by Central Park, practically the only green part of New York City. We stopped at a light at the very end of it, where I noticed a girl sitting on a bench.

She looked in her early teens. Her legs were curled up into her arms. Her head was buried into them, but I could see that she was crying. Her face was dirty and her clothes were torn up and worn. Her shoes looked very small.

I suddenly felt compassion for this complete stranger I saw. I wanted to help her, even though I had no idea what her situation was.

"Oy! Niall! Come here for a sec."

He put down his guitar and came to the window. "What?"

"Look at that girl. She looks so sad and helpless." I pointed her out to him."

"There's a lot of homeless people in such a big city." Niall replied.

"I know that, but I really want to help this one."

I got up and walked to the driver's seat.

"Can you pull over for a sec? It's important." I asked.

"You need to get to your concert. Is it an emergency?" Our driver asked.

"Well... um.." I looked back at the window at the crying girl.

"Yes. Please pull over."

He eyed me suspiciously. "Alright. But be fast."

He pulled over to the curb right before the light turned green. The doors opened and I walked out, right in front of the girl in dirty clothes.
