A hand gently shook my shoulder, making my eyes open. "Come on kiddo, it's time for your first day of eleventh grade." I groaned in response but nevertheless, sat up and rubbed my eyes, expressing how tired I was.
"Pa, what time is it?" My dad made a humming noise in response, checking the watch on his wrist. "Six twenty five am, get dressed kiddo and than come downstairs to get dressed." He left the room, and I slowly made my way to my closet.
I pulled out a gray shirt with long sleeves and black sweatpants. I pursed my lips, looking at my window. From here I could see that the ground was frosted with snow so I grabbed a red sweatshirt as well before changing into my clothes.
I brushed my hair and changed into light blue socks, grabbing my white converse and putting them on before going downstairs and sitting down at the table. Ma placed a plate of french toast, eggs and bacon in front of me.

On the way to the bus stop, I had my earbuds in as I played music on my phone, singing along to the lyrics.
"The secret side of me, I never let you see."
"I keep it caged but I can't control it."
"So stay away from me, the beast is ugly."
"I feel the rage and I just can't hold it."
I usually don't listen to songs like this, seeing as I'm more feminine than I am muscular. But I guess that it's just that it has a very catchy rhythm.
Shrugging my shoulders, I continue to walk to the bus stop, singing along to the song.
"It's scratching on the walls, in the closet, in the halls."
"It comes awake and I can't control it."
"Hiding under the bed, in my body, in my head."
"Why won't somebody come and save me from this, make it end?"
I glance over at the bus stop where a girl with blond hair stood. I bit my lip as I walked over to her, popping one ear bud out. "Uh hey..."
She glanced over at me and smiled. "Hi there." Her bluish green eyes met my brown ones, making me blush. I have no reason why but it did.
"What're you listening to," she asked as she sat down on the sidewalk. I sat next to her reluctantly, biting my lower lip. "Its called Monster, it's a song by Skillet..." I trailed off slightly, looking at the sky.
"Oh! I love Skillet! Monster, that's apart of there album Awake!" Her bright eyes gleamed with excitement, making me giggle. "I don't usually listen to rock bands like them but there songs have good rhythms." She cocked an eyebrow. "What do you usually listen to then?"
I shifted uncomfortably from her gaze, taking a deep breath. "I listen to artists like Sabrina Carpenter, Selena Gomez, Panic! at the disco, R5, Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, One Direction, Hot Chelle Rae, and Twenty One Pilots." I looked back at the girl to see her beaming at me with one of the most gorgeous smiles I've ever seen.
"I love all of those artists too. Especially Twenty One Pilots." I felt my cheeks warming up as I smiled. "W-who's your favorite singer," my voice came out as soft and shy. "Hm...That's a hard one. Tyler and Josh are my favorites but out of the two of them, I'd have to say...Tyler. What about you cutie?" I blushed even harder but my smile managed to grow. "Definitely Josh." Then, there was four minutes of silence.
"...Joshler?" I looked at her and grinned, nodding my head. "O-oh, I'm Daniel by the way. Daniel LaRusso." Once again, she beamed. "Well its nice to meet you Danny, my name's Ali. Ali Mills."
I nodded, just as the school bus pulled up. I glanced over at Ali as we both rose to our feet and walked to the bus. "Wanna sit with me," I offered as I felt the tips of her fingers brush against mine. "Yeah, that would be really nice. Thanks for the offer Danny."
