" Is this a trick?" I scream at the assortment of people in front of me, "I'm Alice, not Queen what-ever-her-name-is. I don't know you and quite frankly, I don't care! Now if you could kindly show me the way out of this crazy place I would be very happy."
The one person stepped forward to speak, " Queen - I mean Alice, we don't know how you got back here. No one has ever come out of the Pool. And where is your guard? He was sent in with you, did you get separated?"
"What are you talking about? All I remember is playing with my little sister, Diana, in my lovely British home. Next thing I know, I wake up here in this fantasy world surrounded by you and your weird friends." I say angrily. They tell me that I was supposed to have lived here till I was 11 then there was a war and I had to leave. Here comes the crazy part, I'm supposed to be royalty. Ha! Back home I was the least popular kid at school.
"So you don't remember me?" he says softly.
"No. I'm sorry." At this he starts to walk away sadly. As I turn to stop him, I'm surprised by a small, pale, pointy-eared creature.
" Give him some time. You and he were good friends 5 years ago. Let me make some introductions: That man you were talking to is Cole, I'm Mekhai, this chessman is Rook, and this", he said pointing to a broad chested man, is General Garraed." General Garraed suddenly split into two and both generals bowed deeply. Seeing as I went white as a sheet, Bibwit quickly said, "Stop, your scaring her!" Then General Gar and General Raed combined into one. I think I fainted.
