Chapter 7

High School is the most annoying place a teenager has to spend their day in. I get that we have to be here for educational purposes, but do we seriously have to deal with the peolpe that are in it? I had just gotten out of my third period and the hallways were more crowded than a concert.

I stood next to the water fountain, waiting for the crowd to lessen so i could go to my locker. Damned my English notebook for making me have to wait here. A lot of people passed me, some bumping into me and others mumbling "move it freak". I just stood there with no emotion written on my face waiting for all these insanely slow people to leave the hallways.

A couple minutes later the crowds died down to a decent amount. i headed to my locker and plugged in my combination. The minute bell rang just as i was taking out my English notebook, and i mentally cursed all those people who were taking their beautiful time in the hallways.

i closed my locker and speed walked to my advanced English class. It was actually one of my  favorite classes and it upset me that i was going to be late for it. What upset me more was the fact that my English teacher hated me for some unknown reason and was probably going to yell at me for being late.

The bell rang right before i opened the door and went inside. Everyone turned to look at me as i stood in the doorway trying to catch my breath. I spotted Zeth in his seat smirking at me and a sudden wave of butterflies invaded my stomach.

"Emry!" my English teacher, Mr. Jones, yelled causing me to flinch at his loud voice, "I do not tolerate tardiness! You're lucky this is your first tardy and that all you get is a warning, but next time i will not hesitate to send you to the office! Now take your seat!" he glared at me and i quickly took my seat, which was right besides Zeth who was still smirking at me.

"Rose Emry was late?" he asked in mock disbelief, "How did she manage to do that?"

"Oh shut up, i was only late because the halls were crowded and the people in it were taking their precious time," i said, taking out a pencil.

"Well late or not, I'm still going to beat you on the test this Friday," he said matter-of-factley.

"Psh yeah right. If i remember correctly i beat your score on the last test, so that obviously means I'm going to beat you on this one.

"That doesn't mean anything," he scoffed.

I rolled my eyes and he grinned at me. We both fell into a comfortable silence as we wrote down what Mr. Jones was saying. He was a middle aged man with a small bald spot on his head. He always wore slacks and dress shirts. His hatred towards me was quite confusing, but i took it as him being old and me being young. Old people hate teenagers.

Lunch time came up fast and i stopped by my locker to get my lunch (the food here was horrible). As i was taking out my bag, i heard someone lean up against the lockers behind my locker door. I moved it and my eyes widened as i came face to face with dark blue eyes.

"Long time no see Rose."
