A/n:
Honestly I'm so sorry for a hella long chapter😂 sometimes I just get a bit carried away, but I hope that you'll enjoy cuz shit is bout to go down😂💕
Y/n's POV:
"We told them..." Tom said after a while "What?" I said as I pulled away from his embrace "we told the crew..." it felt like a big weight got lifted of my chest but then it hit me "I'm so sorry sir it was inappropriate of me to force you into anything" i said as I stood up quickly straightening my navy uniform "you didn't force me into anything, telling the crew was the right thing to do..." he said as he stood up too.

"But I was out of line earlier and tha-"I started "lieutenant you were upset and that doesn't make it right but you listened when I told you to stand down so we're fine, but do not do it again!" He said and now we just stood there in silence lookin at the water passing by us.

(Time skip to next morning)
Y/n's POV:
Since I no longer needed to follow Rachel wherever she was going like a lost puppy I could finally work on the bridge with Kara. We were casually sitting there doing our jobs while Tom and Mike had a conversation in the background but then suddenly my screen started bleeping.

"Sir, we have a fire order. It came across all channels, but it's garbled. They cannot authenticate" I said quickly and the the alarm went off "Lieutenant?" Captain Chandler asked me  "Confirmed fire order, sir, but the target's unclear" that was all I had time to say before I heard mason yell.

"Vampire, Vampire, Vampire! Missile incoming high and fast" he yelled (vampire means that the ship is under attack by a missile or missiles) "Spin four Tomahawks. Hold for a target location" the captain ordered "These coordinates don't make any sense" I said as I watched the screen closely trying to figure the coordinates.

We were all moving quickly trying to figure everything out before we got blown to pieces.

"MM1, align four Echo missiles and place them in the reload pool" Mike commanded "Do we have a target ID?" "Now five-one and trail" someone said "Missile fired from a surface ship in the North Atlantic" a woman's voice spoke "Ballistic missile traveling at 9,700 miles per hour. Confirmed. We have a nuclear burn in the air. We have no chance to intercept" Mason said no chance to intercept... "Batten down. Officer at the one, seal the ship. Prepare for nuclear detonation. This is no drill" Russ said in the speakers.

I knew the risks of joining the navy, I knew that I could die but i didn't think that it would come this soon. I looked next to me and I saw Kara, I grabbed her hand and accepted the fact that this was it, but at least I would die with people I love doing something that I love death will get us all eventually....

"Sir, the missile overshot us. Headed for land" I heard a man say, I let out a long shaky breath we're going to survive [ Alarm blaring ] "Detonation in 12 seconds. Bridge, shield your eyes." Mike said "God help us." I heard Tom mumble.

I shielded my eyes and then I heard a loud explosion and the machinery of the whole ship shut down. Everybody walked over to the window to watch the devastation that the missile had caused and in the background I heard Mike Slattery talking to Chung who was down in the machinery "Sir, the, uh, electromagnetic pulse from the bomb blew our grid. Engines won't spin. No propulsion. Emergency lights operating on battery power." I hear Chung say and the radios were down which means no messages in or out.

"Ok let's get those engines back one we need to move this ship away from the blast zone" Mike said to Chung before he hung up. I felt like I was going to throw up and I felt like it was happening now, I got up from my seat and ran outside "Lieutenant?!" I heard Tom yell from inside but I just kept running. When I got to the rail of the ship I let it all out, and by letting it all out i mean my latest meals. I've never thrown up under pressure before but I guess thinking that the whole ship was gonna blow up and then getting to know that it won't does the trick.
