I woke up, slowly but surely, as the sunlight poured through the windows. Everything flooded my mind as I wondered how I got to this double bed.
I got adopted!
I suddenly felt a wave of joy and happiness run over me as I pulled the covers back and hopped out of bed to investigate my new room in more detail. Paying attention to the finishing touches and the special things that made me smile.
The door resided in the centre of the wall opposite the bed that held beautiful scenery bedding. The scene was of the beach on a hot sunny evening and two turtles watched the sunset. Next to the bed on the left and right were bedside lockers; the left held an empty picture frame and my Supernatural notebook, the right held an alarm clock. On the left wall was another door which had a single sign hanging off-centre. The sign read ' Bathroom ' .
Wait, what?! I get my very own bathroom?!
I continue to examine my new room. There was a wall I still hadn't explored. I realised that the light source was streaming from the huge window that resided on that wall. Walking closer, there were shelves filled with books and empty photo frames. They waited to be filled with the new memories of a new life.
That's what this is; a new life. I have a new chance. A new chance to survive in a proper family. Yeah, family doesn't end with blood but in the orphanage family was a rarely said word and didn't fit with the daily chaos that happened.
I started to smell something really amazing waft under the door that led to the hall. My feet willingly led me towards the delicious, mouthwatering smell of food. When I opened the door I found someone standing there. JJ was coming to tell me it was time for breakfast.
"Hey, it time for bwekfast!" JJ half shouted.
I picked her up and started walking towards the way I thought led to the stairs. "You going da wrong way." was whispered in my ear to notify me I was infact going the wrong way. I put little JJ down so she could lead me downstairs towards the kitchen.
When I arrived, Jensen was working away at the stove and sitting at the table was Danneel. She turned her head at the sound of JJ running.
"Hey, how'd you sleep?" Danneel asked sweetly.
I replied in a very happy tone, "Great. Your house is amazing."
Jensen turned from his work with a pan in his hand, "This is your home now as well. Don't forget that."
"Okay, I'm sorry. Its just I've never had a proper home before." I answered with my head down, looking at my feet.
Without me realising, Danneel made her way over to me. Her hand lifted my chin, "Don't worry about it. How about some eggs and bacon for breakfast?"
A smile plastered my face at the thought of food. "Definitely!"
We all sat down around the table. Danneel and Jensen at either end with JJ and I opposite each other other sides.
The morning was spent planning what the day would hold. In my mind I knew this family was the one for me.
