Ahh. Friday.

My half-closed eyelids rise at the comforting thought. Just a few more minutes until the bell rings, a few minutes until freedom. The algebra teacher drones on and on until finally she pauses and tells us we could pack up. The class quickly puts various binders and pencils away as chatting explodes across the room, filling my ears with noise. Myron taps on my desk, four quick thuds. I turn to face him, mirroring his enthusiastic grin.

"So can you come over this Satuday?," He inquires. "I found a neat 'mecha' anime."

I let out a single giggle. It had become a sort of tradition, since last year. He had invited me over to watch anime so many times I'd memorized the layout of his bedroom, crammed with band posters and convention memorabilia.

He looks at me expectantly, his auburn hair semi-alive with static.

"Sorry Myron, I've got a very busy weekend of eating and gaming to look forward to," I say with fake regret. He chuckles, slinging his bag over his shoulder.

"Sounds cool, there's always next Saturday," He tousles my light hair, knowing how much it irks me. The bell sounds in the hall outside as I fix the bird nest on my head. Myron walks with me out of the buzzing classroom, where we met up with Evan. As we stroll down the crowded hall, Myron tells Evan all about his wild dream he had had the night before, which included sharks with laser vision and guitars with wings.

A placid smile rests on my lips as I half-listen to the crazy story I'd heard earlier. If I'd gone to Myron's, I would have missed out on another sort of tradition.

Before the cutoff, Caden and our friend Aaron McElroy would play Minecraft while talking on Skype. It has always been awesome to me, I could hear his sweet voice without the awkwardness of seeing each other's faces, which made it much easier to hold a full conversation with him. Aaron was awesome too, Caden and him together were incredibly amusing, a mixture of sass and nerdiness. The two would chat up a storm, allowing me to lean back and listen to his voice for hours (which is normally how long the calls last). I was usually the quieter one in the call, which is still true, only butting in with sarcastic comments and AOT references. Now, things were a bit different, but they are the only times I get to listen to his voice for 2-4 hours.

My eyes unconsciously began to scan the crowd of hyped-up teens, searching for the oh-so-familiar shorty. After a few false alarms, I spot him walking beside Aaron, who is laughing at something. Caden has his hands in his hoodie pockets, his head is tilted up a bit to glare at the similarly dark-haired boy. two could be brothers, really. Aaron's raven hair falls in his face, reaching down toward his round storm cloud-colored eyes, surrounded by freckles. He wears a black hoodie with a band logo on the back, paired with dark wash jeans and sneakers. Their facial structure is similar, excluding Caden's rather squarish jaw and Aaron's more pointed nose. Aaron seems to have said something amusing, as Caden laughs and softly pushes him away.

I carelessly toss my backpack on the bed as I walk past the open door to my room, heading toward the loft, home of our two desktop computers. I sit in front of mine, settling into the plush desk chair with a drawn out sigh. Kinsley walks past me on her way to her room, a scoff escaping her pink-tinged lips as I turn the computer on. We're normally the only ones home, as our parents work most days. The screen lights up with my wallpaper after I type in my short password. I grin as I always do when seeing the wallpaper, the cleaning-obsessed Lance Corporal Levi squished into a rather small chair with none other than the titan boy, Eren Jaeger. I automatically open Skype and Google Chrome out of habit, tapping on the wooden desk and plugging my headphones in as I wait. Skype opens first to reveal that no one is online yet. I exhale disappointedly and end up just browsing Youtube. ((A/N: Typical weekend))
