"New semester, new classes, new experience,"

I think to myself as the middle-aged woman hands over the newly-printed paper.

"...Or not."

Nothing has changed, to my dismay. I'm looking at the same schedule I've been used to for so long. It sure would have been nice to have something different, but I guess I shouldn't be too disappointed. My classes aren't that bad, after all.

Still, I sigh while turning away from her and my feet begin moving in the direction of my desk. It seems that everyone is chatting to their friends about their new classes. My eyes hopelessly wander over towards the girl standing in front of my desk. This makes me freeze for a moment, deciding whether it's worth it to sit or not. Sometimes it's easier to just avoid such encounters, after all.

Said female stands slightly away from the desk, chatting with another girl I haven't seen before.

Must be new.

Ellie, who had begun to walk towards the group, grins widely at the new girl, happily engaging in conversation. I find myself slightly taken aback, witnessing the girl I know in such a talkative and cheerful mood. It's nice to see her like this, I won't lie, but it's simply not what I would have expected from her.

The new girl has short hair that was dyed a deep green, her messy bangs falling in front of her face. I sit behind them, attempting to seem as inconspicuous as possible. Her icy blue eyes are ringed by a thick layer of stark eyeliner and black eyeshadow, which seem to jump off her porcelain skin. She also has a shade of brown lipstick coating her thick bottom lip, with a slightly lighter shade on her thinner upper lip. She wears a leather jacket that looks much too big for her over a striped dress that reaches just below her knees, which are adorned with long black stockings leading to clunky Mary Janes.

"Excuse me?" A voice says.

I look up into the girl's shockingly blue eyes. For some reason, I feel embarrassed that she caught me analyzing her.

"Uh," I mumble, leaning back in my chair, only to have her face follow me. Her nose is inches from mine as she stares at me intensely.

"Were you checking me out or something?" She sneers with a thick and blatantly obvious cockney accent.

I can feel my face heat up due to her close proximity.

"I-"

The girl cuts me off with a low, intimidating chuckle.

She refuses to back up; Though I do, feeling my chair lean back onto just two legs. The girl smells of sharp rosemary, along with her breath holding the lingering scent of some form of fruit.

I'm about to fall backwards when Ellie comes to my rescue. She places a hand lightly on the girl's shoulder, laughing nervously. The girl with the green hair pulls back wearing a smirk.

"Next time be a little more subtle, boy," She says, clearly amused. I feel my cheeks warm unwittingly.

Dammit.

"H-Hey Caden," Ellie stutters, running a hand through her blonde bangs. Her cheeks are dusted with a light red tint.

"This is September, she's new, obviously," She says, gesturing to green-hair.
