The confrontation with my father didn't bring the answers that I was looking for.
"Why?"
"I don't understand what you mean babe."
"When you met Clarissa you already had two children with mum. Why couldn't you keep it in your pants?"
"Kait, I'm still your father. I know I messed up but you will respect me."
"Respect? What do you know about respect? If you knew what that word meant then you wouldn't have disrespected mum by cheating on her with Willem's mother. I almost got married to my bother all because of your promiscuity."
"Are you happy?" my mother asked, "does it make you happy to see your daughter break down like this?"
"Of course not, this was not my intention. I'm sorry Kait."
"Are there other children that I should know about?"
"Hlengi-"
"Just answer the damn question Siya. I've watched you float around all the time that we've been married. You're always going on business trips or out somewhere sealing a business deal. You have a son from an affair I never knew about, I wouldn't be surprised if I found out that you have another wife somewhere else."
"Hlengi, I love you and I don't want to lose what we have."
"You always beat about the bush when you have something to hide. You have more children don't you?"
I, uhm...I have two other children in Soweto."
I don't know if it was the shocking confession which my father just made but I felt like I was overheating. I couldn't handle anything that this lying man was about to say. I had almost made a full escape to my room when I fainted as I turned the doorknob to my room.
