I was so happy that Leo wanted to follow me out, without him I swear I would have been lost. It was dark outsside and he followed me all the way to the bus stop. It was weird, I just met him yesterday and now I am visiting his home.
"Sooooo...." Leo dragged.
I ignored him, I was mostly afraid of having a serious topic as a conversation starter.
"STOP DON'T MOVE" I shouted to Leo.
He froze. It was a baby blue bird on the ground. It trembled, was it freezing? The bird was half lifeless.
"Oh my god" I picked up the bird in my hand and covered it, maybe it would help.
"How did you see the bird" Leo asked surprized.
"With my eyes, smartass. I'm not blind" I said.
"Put it down. It's dead" he said
"No it's not" I argued.
I held it in my hands as we walked the few meters to the busstop.
"Let me see" Leo said.
I opened my hands and the bird layed there, lifeless.
"Poor little soul." Leo said. "Let's put it down" he said.
I closed my hands and shut me eyes. I concentrated on the bird. 'Pip pip' the bird chirped. I opened my hands and the bird flew away.
Leo had his mouth wide open.
"The bird.. it..flew.." he stammered.
"I know, it flew away." I said.
"I swear on the river of Styx the bird was dead!" He said.
I didn't know what a Styx it and didn't bother to ask.
"No, I said it was alive!"
"Thanks for having me, and following me out. " I said.
My bus came and I got on it, I took the window seat. I saw Leo confused and scared. What if the bird was dead?  No it would never be.
