Chapter 6: Kennedy

I woke up the morning after with a major headache not quite remembering what exactly went on for me to have a headache since I don’t drink any kind of alcohol. As I sat up in my bed I rubbed my eyes thinking about what had happened. Then I remembered. Trinity had showed up, pissed me off, I destroyed the dinner I worked hard to cook for everyone, Ethan and Chase had disappeared and then I went to bed.  I felt bad for leaving Grace out there wondering what was wrong with me but I couldn’t deal with Trinity being back because now everything would just go to hell with her here. I got up out of bed and headed to my bathroom to take a shower since I felt like complete crap right now and needed to clear my head. As soon as I turned the light on I looked at myself in the mirror and jumped a little not believing what who I saw looking back at me. It was me but my hair looked like a tumbleweed, my eyes were red and puffy from crying, and I had a headache. I groaned before starting the shower. I took my shirt and shorts off and threw them into the dirty clothes hamper behind the door then stepped in letting the hot water run over my body relaxing the tension in my muscles.

Once I got out of the shower I wrapped a towel around my body and immediately started brushing my hair because if I didn’t it would get knots in it and they hurt so much. After a good 15 minutes I finally got all the tangles and knots out of my hair and put it up into a messy bun. I walked over to my dresser and turned on my radio which immediately started blasting some Carrie Underwood ‘Before He Cheats’ in my room. I danced to my closet door and opened it looking for my favorite shirt. I found it and decided that today was a short day so I pulled out a pair of shorts also.  After that I walked on over to my dresser drawers pulled out a bra with matching panties and got dressed. I went to hang up my towel before brushing my teeth and exiting the bathroom to go do some chores. I turned off the radio because I was sure to get my head bit off from Grace about it being too loud since neither of us had work today. As I jogged downstairs I ran into the kitchen and pulled out some bread for toast. When I turned around I almost screamed bloody murder for who I saw sleeping on the couch.

I put a hand over my heart trying to calm down my breathing a little before I walked over to the couch. Ethan was passed out on my couch and I didn’t know why. I looked down at him and found myself staring at him admiring his features as he slept. Yes I know, it’s just little creepy but it’s not every day a hot cowboy is asleep on your couch in your house so leave me alone. I kneeled down beside him afraid to wake him up but I finally ran my hand through his hair and gently shook him awake.

“Hey. Ethan. Wake up.”

He groaned but opened his eyes and blinked a couple of times before focusing on me. He smiled at me before yawning, stretching, and somewhere in between there giving me a really tight bear hug. I laughed before pushing him off of me and walking away as he sat up rubbing his face then sighed before looking at me again.

“So how are you? I’m sorry I missed your incredible dinner Kennedy. I had some business come up and had to run.”

“It’s ok I guess. No one ate it anyways.”

“Why? What happened after we left Kennedy?”

“Like you haven’t already heard? I’m surprised that you two aren’t sucking on each other’s faces by now.” I said coldly but immediately regretted it.

“I honestly have no idea what you are talking about. If I did I wouldn’t be here asking you now would I?”

“Well I want to know how you got into my house and why you slept here.”
