"Of Mice and Men" is about the friendship of two men - George and Lennie. They both travel from one job to another, working mostly as farmers' help. Lennie is retarded and although he is not a bad person and doesn't appear harmful, he doesn't realize how strong he is (sounds like Edward Cullen - sorry I couldn't resist). George helps Lennie but George appreciates Lennie's company because he feels lonely.
