Kole POV
I slept great last night and even had a wonderful dream, it was about my dad bringing me to live with him. I wish it would come true I thought as I kept my eyes closed still waking up.
Slowly I opened my eyes and blinked at the ceiling, it looked different and the stench of my mom's house wasn't present, weird. Then I realized it wasn't dream last night and sat up taking in my surroundings. I grinned wide then bounced up and down on the bed I slept in, it wasn't a dirty old mattress anymore.
"Mmm, mommy?" Mel's sleepy voice said behind me, I turned around and I completely forgot about Mel sleeping with me.
"Shh Mel it's ok go back to sleep" I rubbed her back in a soothing motion so she'd fall asleep again which she did soon enough. Once I made sure my sister wouldn't wake up again I climbed out of the queen sized bed, it didn't take me long to find the bathroom so I did my business and took a quick shower. Thankfully the towels were in a closet inside of the bathroom so I wrapped one around my waist and gathered my dirty clothes up on the floor, I peaked out of the door for any sign of others, when I thought the coast was clear I ran inside the room I slept in last night shutting the door behind me. Mel was still asleep so I quickly unzipped the duffle bag we brought and shuffled through what little clothes Mel and I had, once I found some pants and a shirt I decided to look around since we would go to my dads house today.
There was a patio balcony view across from my room and the sight was breathtaking, it looked about eight in the morning the sun was cracking throughout the sky and the morning air was still crisp. Some people were walking on the beach already a couple and a few joggers. I exited through the balcony doors and closed them shut, the door on my dad's room was shut and I believe locked so I descend down the staircase.
The cabin was exquisite, everything looked brand new and I was lucky to have slept in such a nice place like this. I know others have it worst off I was one of them, now I'm with my father who's doesn't hang around with slum.
I was really hungry my mother hadn't fed us for hours so I rummaged around the fridge, once I found a sandwich to eat I walked off with it in hand. When I went through a arch in the doorway it led me to the dining room then after that was the living room, everything was so big and I don't think i'll ever get used to it. I sat on the couch eating my sandwich until I heard the suction on the refrigerator pop open. Soon the boy my father called Snow walked in my view, his hair was messy and his eyes drooped down occasionally. He held a blue mug in one hand and run a hand through his hair messing it up more.
"Good morning you're up early, how long have you been up?" He asked me.
"Not that long maybe a half hour, is my father still asleep?" I replied to the older boy.
"Yeah he is, but I'm sure he'll be up soon enough. So your sister is still asleep I assume" The boy Snow smiled at me and took a sip of his drink.
"Oh, yeah Mel's still asleep she'll probably sleep for awhile. She hasn't got good sleep for a long time by the way I was meaning to ask you are those contacts in your eyes?" I really hoped they were but my gut was telling me no. Snow looked hesitant to answer but he bit his lip and confirmed my suspicion.
"No they're my real eye color, you know I never really got to introduce myself properly. I'm Snow and I'm a vampire as you already guessed but Ashslav your father brought me not to long ago." I kinda already guessed but him telling me still shocked me. I've never met a vampire or anything, but it was kind of cool and scary.
"So is that blood in your cup? Have you ever you know.... bit a person?" I shyly asked looking at everything but Snow which made him chuckle and nod, making his hair sweep into his eyes.
