Merlin's last words (Merlin Fanfic)

Chapter 5- A new Beginning

"MERLIN!"

The Castle bells rang. It mean't bad news. Something has happened in the Castle grounds. 

Merlin ran through the hallways until he met up with Arthur.

"What seems to be the matter sire?"

"There is magic inside these walls. Find it but becareful, a child was just killed."

"Yes Sire."

Merlin looked around for Enchanted and he caught sight of her reading a book. He approached her but she spoke as he did.

"Don't blame me, it's not me. But I do say how dangerous it is when you let out a creature to attack a young child who was born to be innocent."

"What are you on about Enchanted! What is happening?"

"I have no idea Merlin, but I believe there is a creature around the castle walls."

"What?"

Merlin couldn't say much more. Gaius was needed and so Merlin ran off with Enchanted behind. 

"Gaius! Gaius! We have trouble in the Castle walls!"

Gaius looked up at Merlin with fear in his eyes. He looked quite tired though.

"What is it Merlin?"

He looked at Enchanted up and down as if he hasn't seen a creature like her before. Or maybe he has...

"A child was attacked in this Castle a few hours ago and Enchanted said there's a creature lurking about. Maybe you'll know which creature it is."

"Merlin, I cannot find out if you don't bring me the-"

With in the instant the door flung open and a few guards with a little body came charging in. 

"Court Physician! We have a young ill boy!" 

The laid the boy on the table and Gaius inspected it. There was a bite on the boys left arm and a scratch on his face. Gaius identified it within the minute he saw the bite.

"I believe Enchanted was right. It is a big or great creature to be feared. I believe we're dealing with a Serket."

"What's a Serket?" One of the guards asked.

"A Serket is a large scorpion about the size or larger than a human. My question is, since Serket are usually found in the woods, how on earth did it end up in the Castle grouds unseen?"

"Magic." 

Everyone turned to look at Enchanted.

"Magic. No doubt and if you want more honesty, Serkets are often controlled and guarded by Druids. So really, someone brought this creature in and hid it under the Castle grounds and let it out to sting and kill an innocent boy."

"How do we kill a Serket?" Merlin asked but turned to Gaius as if he didn't need Enchanted's opinion.

"Fire, I believe."

Merlin and Enchanted walked out only to meet up with Arthur and Mordred. 

"Figured it out already?" Arthur asked seeming proud.

"Yes my Lord and it is a Serket. A large shaped Scorpion around our size or bigger."

Merlin answered quickly before Enchanted could.

"Great lets split up then. Mordred and Enchanted take the top floors while Merlin and I take the bottom floors. Becareful, it's a stingy scorpion. It's poison can kill you quickly."
