SUHO 10:22 18th
Sleep had taken over him a few hours ago while he was reading some magazines, trying to find the biggest scandal or if there were any about them. He found none. He wasn't surprised, they were out of business for a while. He has to admit, it was fun. But then it wasn't.
He slowly rose from his sleep. He had slowly lost his power and then had to deal with time slowing down. Which he knows, everyone hates it, why couldn't they have something else? Time slowing down made them sluggish and bored. They needed time to go faster, they can't stand still for long, let alone the hand on the clock.
He smiled to himself as he walked to his bathroom to freshen up. His 'bandmates', the thought of them put a smile on his face but created an ache in his heart. He misses them dearly. They were his brothers, without them, he was nothing. He hadn't been able to contact them because of the danger. But he had lost his power too long ago, and couldn't even sense their existence. He didn't know if they were alive or dead. All he could do was wonder, which he did most days.
He looked at his reflection, and splashed water on his face to wake himself up a bit. He checked the wall clock, 10:15. He dried his face and grabbed his phone and keys and went out. He like to wonder as mentioned. There was this nice meadow he liked to go to when he was wanted to clear his mind. Surprisingly not far from there, he found a empty pool. It was abandoned, destined to be something great and worthwhile but abandoned. He liked to go there and focus on his thoughts.
As he was walking, he felt a droplet of water, he could see it slowly fall on his face. Time slowing down can have that effect. He looked around and looked up in confusion, it wasn't supposed to rain today. He checked his phone to make sure while also glancing at the time. 10:17. He shook his head. It's still too slow. He disregarded the thought about rain and made his way to the empty pool's floor. He sat himself at one end and closed his eyes.
Rain. something he used to love. Water, was something he felt connected with. He liked to think of himself to be like water, calm and lenient at times. He scoffed at the thought. Lenient, he was the leader, he wanted to be firm. But now water is foreign to him. He liked to imagine himself swimming or playing outside in the rain. He thought back to times where he first mastered his power and how happy he was. How he had wanted to share that happiness with his brothers. He remembered back to when he played round with water and annoyed the members with his water bubbles.
He liked the empty pool, he felt like it was him in a way. It was meant to be overflowing with water and yet it was empty. He felt that the pool represented how he felt, lonely and empty. By now his head was resting against the peeled wall of the pool, and was almost dozing off in sleepiness again. When time slows down, the only way pass time quickly was to sleep.
A girl appeared at the edge of the clearing, looking very frustrated and about to break down in tears. She appeared to be in a frenzy, looking for something. She sighs in relief when she spots the pool. She heads towards it. She climbed down to the bottom where he appeared to be 'sleeping'. She tilted her head, 'was he?' he didn't make a move in indication that he noticed her presence, she glanced at her watch, 10:21. It's almost time. She got closer and crouched down to peer at his face. She reached for his face and caressed his cheek.
He suddenly grabbed her hand and opened his eyes staring straight at her, with now blue eyes.
Shortly after he had closed his eyes he felt a strong energy approaching him, yet he couldn't move all he could feel was coolness running through his body. He felt like he was floating. His head felt as though it was filled with water. A soft touch pulled him out of the haziness. His gaze locked with hers before he felt a great surge of something he hadn't felt these last few months.
A huge body of water engulfed the two, catching the girl by surprise. She knew his powers were well... powerful. But she didn't expect him to envelope both of them under water at the first touch. Right after the water had levitated them up she broke out on the surface gasping for air, before getting plunged again underwater. He hadn't come up yet, she didn't think he needed to. He looked at peace.
He turned his gaze towards the struggling girl. She couldn't breathe, he could feel her heartbeat. Now that he was surrounded by his element he could hear, see, and sense everything. He locked eyes with her panicked ones as she tried to swim up for air. He raised one arm towards her and bubble floated towards her. She didn't notice until all the bubbles gathered around her body and enveloped her head, thus creating a barrier between her head and the water and giving her air. She gasped as she tried to take in as much as her lungs could.
After from recovering she tilted her head towards the calm boy. Thoughts were running through her mind faster than she could voice them out loud. She was underwater way too long for her to now start feel the effects of running low on oxygen. When she breathed in the water it didn't ignite the familiar sting you get from breathing in water, it was almost like it didn't affect her.
"I-i- c-could b-breathe u-underwater...?" she stuttered with her eyes wide and frightened. He only nodded his head before coming closer to her body. He reached out and gently took her body and swam to the surface. He helped her get out first and then himself.
She threw herself backwards and laid on her back. She stared at the sky. That was an experience. She wanted to understand but her mind wouldn't comprehend.
"Yes you can." he responded He sat himself next to her and waited patiently for her to recover. She looked at him and sighed before sitting up.
"Was that really necessary?" she stated. Locking eyes with his.
"Sorry?" he responded with a raised eyebrow. She took her hair in hands and squeezed to get the water out. He chuckled and waved his hand in a circular motion. She stopped and watched in amazement as all the water on her skin and clothes become one big ball of water in front of her eyes.
"Thank you" she whispered. Although he still doesn't know her name, he felt connected to her, despite knowing that it's probably because she is a Nonagoner.
"I am R.J. by the way" she said after noticing his deep stare, she continued, "we have about 24 hours to get to Barcelona" she caught his eyes with a smile.
"You can breathe underwater because you were wearing the Nona" he stated out of nowhere. That caught her by surprise. The pendant wasn't showing, how did he know? She looked down and saw that it was glowing. He face grew hot. was it glowing this entire time and she didn't notice?
"Oh" her exclamation of surprise came out soft. He looked around the turned back to her.
"I imagine, you brought your Nonagon with you?" he questioned. She shook her head in disagreement.
"Not here but I left it in your APT" she trailed. He raised an eyebrow.
"Uhm, the Nonagon told me where you lived, not where you were, I checked your APT before coming here" she explained. He nodded in understanding.
"Alright, let's go, the Nonagon is our transportation." he motioned for her to follow him. She didn't question him this time, frankly she was tired and hoped the travel wouldn't be long. Boy was she in a for a ride.
