Day One

6:18am

Jonathan POV

I was running, but from what?

I heard bb's flying past my ears, so close to my face I could feel the air as they whizzed past me.

As soon as I got into the cover of behind a building, I lost all control of my legs, lost balance and fell on my back.

I hadn't time to realize the whole floor in front of the door was pure ice.

I stared at death in the face, and before the enemy could kill me with their gun-

I woke up.

The clock read 6:20am. I sighed, and jumped out of bed. Got clothes for a quick warm shower, and hopped in.

About 20 minutes later I emerged soaking wet, with a plain blue T-Shirt, shorts, and socks.

I looked at myself in the mirror, and saw my hair looked like it had been dunked in Corn Syrup.

Quickly, I combed my hair until it was almost dry. By that time it looked fairly decent again.

I decided just to go with it, since nobody would be seeing my hair under my helmet.

I checked the clock once more, 6:48am. Shoot. I gotta be to Mislim by 7:00!

I put all my gear on in a jiffy, and jogged out to my car. Good thing I have a Jeep, they're fast.

I jumped in, and I was off.

While driving I was thinking to myself, why was I nervous anyway? It's only an Airsoft match.

I mean, come on Jonathan, how bad could it be?

I could slip and fall. I could accidently shoot a teammate.

Somebody who's a pro could get mad at me, and possibly beat me to a pulp.

Okay maybe it's fine to be a little anxious.

I pulled up to a parking lot next to Mislim, and took my guns, grenades, and ammo out of the back of my Black Jeep.

I didn't notice everybody was looking in my direction, until I heard a couple of them hooting and hollaring.

"Nice Jeep, man!" Said one with an AR. He was taller, a little slim, and had a mask on.

No goggles, so I could only see his eyes. They were a vibrant green, like freshly grown leaves on a birch tree.

"Thanks dude" I said with a slight giggle. This can't be as bad as I'm imagining it.

Take a breath, Jon. You're gonna do just fine.

I inhaled the smell of this place, and exhaled. I can't describe the scent it emits.

It's almost a mix between smoke, and rain. Odd, but I like it..for some reason.

I headed over to the squad leader-SpaceMan-noticing he had already started briefing with my other squad members.

"Thanks for finally joining us..em.. what's your callsign again?" Asked SpaceMan.

"My name- I mean my callsign's uhh-" I started to answer until some guy, a little taller than me interupted me.

"Peirce, his callsign is Peirce." Said the stranger.

All the others around us were silent, and I got a few confused looks.

SpaceMan called back everyones attention, and kept on with the briefing.

"Thank you" I whispered to the guy.

"No problem, dude" He said. Now I remember who he is! He's that guy who said my Jeep was nice.

I could see his face a little better because he was standing right next to me.

After a couple seconds I stopped looking at him and listened to the squad leader.

Evan POV

As soon as we were finished briefing, I huddled up with some of my friends.

David(Daithi-pronounced da-hee), Craig(Mini Lad), Brock(Moo), and Brian(Terminator).

I've known these guys since.. heck I've known them all my life.

We all went to the same school, same grade, and we're like brothers.

"Alright boys, what's our game plan?" asked Brian.

"Brian and Brock advance on the first building to the right, clear it, and stay there and protect.

Mini and me can go to the building to left, do the same, and guard it.

Evan... well do your thing." David said, giving a smirk at the end.

I looked up at all the guys, gave a toothy grin, and said

"Go time, head out!"

As if on que the round started with a lound siren declaring war between the enemy blues, and our team, the reds.

I bolted right in between Brock and Brian, who ran right, and David and Mini, who sprinted to the left.

Before I knew it I was at the middle building, hunkered down under the window.

I peaked my head up looking through the window, and waited for the blue.

Jonathan POV

Right after the match started, I had sprinted towards the building in the middle.

I noticed my teammates fleeing left and right.

Only one person followed me, of course it was that guy, and suprisingly I still don't know his name.

Now's not the best time to ask, but here it goes.

"What's your name?" I questioned.

"My name's Bryce, my callsign on the other hand-" he took a second to shoot a red out of the peaky hole "-Is Ohm."

"Oh, I'm Jonathan. Don't call me Jon, or Johnny, I don't like it." I said sternly.

"Nice to meet you, Jonathan." He said with a smile.

"You too, Bryce." I returned the smile.

We were too focused in our conversation to notice a red had ran right past our building.

He had snuck around the corner, and before either of us could react, he shot us both.

"Ow-ffffudge!" I groaned. He had shot me right, smack dab on my eye.

"Woah, Jonath- I mean Peirce you alright dude?" Bryce asked.

"I can't see-ah" I hissed in pain. I couldn't see anything out of my left eye, I did see our red enemy who shot me though.

He helped pick me up and wobble me out of the building.

I couldn't make his face out.

No matter how hard I squinted all I could tell was he had taken his goggles off to reveal caramel-looking eyes.
