alexis got to david's house around half past twelve. she was greeted with david's bed head and raspy voice.
"i'm down to stay in if you're not up for driving," alexis said after taking her shoes off. she didn't even want to leave.
"let's just stay in then," david pulled alexis into a hug when she made her way into the kitchen. they lingered in each others embrace for longer than usual, but neither of them seemed to mind.
over the next couple hours, david and alexis talked about everything, from high school memories to reminiscing on childhood to their lives in the future. the only thing they didn't mention was their feelings for each other.
as soon as alexis was beginning to doze off on the couch, david felt a sudden burst a energy.
"wanna go for a swim?" he asked excitedly.
"like right now?" alexis asked sitting up slowly.
"yes right now," david jumped up to get changed.
"i don't have a swimsuit with me," alexis said standing up in an attempt to shake the drowsiness. "what time is it?"
"it's 4:15," david grinned. "and you can just wear one of my shirts over your underwear. i know you keep extra in your trunk." david smirked while saying the last part.
"yeah for emergencies," alexis rolled her eyes at his suggestiveness. "ill go grab a shirt."
david was treading in the pool when alexis came out in his shirt. david watched alexis make her to the pool intently without realizing. david noticed that his feelings towards alexis had become less and less platonic since they moved to la, and right now, his feelings were polar opposite of platonic.
"take a picture, it lasts longer," alexis said sitting at the edge of the pool, dipping her legs in.
david didn't even realize he was staring. "oh, sorry." david was seldom speechless, but right now is one of those times. the way his shirt fell right above the tops of alexis's thighs had his mind racing, and he had no control over it.
the way the pool light bounced off the water and onto alexis's features had david almost breathless. he always found her physically attractive, but david felt different this time. he felt gravitated towards her.
david made his way to where she sitting at the edge of the pool. "so are you coming in?" he asked grabbing her hand, intertwining his fingers with hers.
"mhm," alexis sounded before slipping in between the pool wall and david's body. her back was pressed up against the cold wall, so alexis naturally let her body mold with david's to get as far away from the wall as possible. the flow of the water forced alexis' shirt to pool around her waist. "move out a little, the wall is cold."
he moved out from the wall, but kept grip on alexis's hand. "you look really cute with my shirt on," david said pulling her closer by her bare waist.
alexis rested her head on his chest, softly smiling to herself. david moved his hand from her waist to her chin, lifting her head so their eyes met. alexis watched as david's eyes fell to her lips, then back again to her eyes.
'fuck, i really want to kiss her,' david thought to himself.
'is he gonna kiss me?' alexis asked herself in disbelief.
"fuck it," david mumbled before he pressed his lips to hers.
