BODHI JAMES could not stop thinking about a certain girl all night. No matter how hard he tried the image of Faith Rivers didn't vanish from his head. Faith Rivers was Bodhi's ex-girlfriend who had dumped him spontaneously the night before prom in front of his entire family, dinner and all.
And the worst part of the story was always why she said she did it: I'm sorry Bodhi, you're a great guy and all but- but my heart belongs to someone else...Elijah. Please don't hate him for this, he doesn't even know.
It stung more than Bodhi wanted to admit. The one true love of his life also preferred Elijah over him. That was just pathetic.
That incident however, marked the starting point of the journey that was Bodhi James' extreme jealously towards his friend best Elijah. How could he not be jealous? Everybody wanted Elijah over him.
The first time Bodhi ever met Elijah was in high school, they bonded over football and numerous cups of coffee in their local café. Elijah was a nice guy, they got along well, liked and disliked the same things, shared a mutual love for kinder eggs and wattpad.
Five years into their friendship however, Bodhi couldn't say the same thing.
The one thing that Elijah Martin had always done better than anybody else was attract. He attracted everybody towards himself, whether it be his laser beam green eyes or his danger loving personality, Elijah Martin never failed to make heads turn.
This perk however, was also what Bodhi hated the most about Elijah. The attention was always on him. Everybody always wanted to either talk to him, make out with or just admire the great Elijah Martin, the one with the abnormally green eyes and all.
Fuck, even the girl yesterday in the subway station wanted Elijah over me, Bodhi thought to himself bitterly before being interrupted.
"Hey Bodh, we still haven't confirmed where we are throwing the after party tomorrow." Elijah's smooth voice rang through his room. Talk of the devil...
"I don't know man, make it anywhere. My place is available if you want." Bodhi answered honestly. After the fight yesterday at the subway station, Bodhi was determined to win the coming football match to prove his point.
The fight had occurred the day before at the subway station. Two boys from Alfred High College for the intellectually Gifted, namely: Jose and Aiden, had gone onto Elijah's bad side, again and led to a fight right in the middle of the station.
The fight was regarding the football match coming that Saturday and how those two swore to beat Deaton High's legendary football team, which Elijah, of course captained. One thing led to another and before the boys knew it they were causing a scene right in the middle of the subway station.
But if it were up to Bodhi, the best part about the entire fight came afterwards when a red haired girl with glasses told them to break it up. Bodhi could still remember what that scene looked like, a petite girl with bright red hair telling four strong built jocks to break it up.
If Bodhi was her, he would have feared for his life at that moment. What was even going on through her head? Did she even notice the size difference?
"Bodh? Hello? Earth to Bodhi!" Elijah woke Bodhi up from his day dream yet again. What was wrong with him? Bodhi never zoned out like this.
"Ughh. Yes, sorry Eli, do you remember the girl yesterday?"
Elijah visibly stiffened at the mention of her, "Yes, why?"
"Does she go to our college?"
"I don't know, never seen her around campus."
"But I noticed her carrying a book bag that looked like the ones available at the library."
"So, what are you suggesting?"
"If she is around, could we invite her to the party?" Bodhi asked hesitantly, he didn't want to do something Elijah wouldn't approve of.
"What's up with your sudden infatuation with her?" Elijah asked the one question Bodhi was afraid he would.
"Nothing, it's just.."
"Just what?"
"I've never seen a red head before." Bodhi admitted silently. It was rather embarrassing but Bodhi James had always had an infatuation for people with red hair. He could never understand them.
"Are you actually fucking kidding me?" Elijah laughed, he was struggling to breathe at this point, gasping for oxygen due to the stupid fantasies in his best friend's head.
"Stop laughing Eli, it's something I've wanted for a while.." Bodhi confessed quietly. He was regretting his decision judging by the hearty laugh Elijah was having.
"You know what, forget it. It was just a stupid ide-" Bodhi began.
"Nah, nah, Bodh. Whatever makes you happy, even if it's this." Elijah told him between laughs and gasps. "I'll find her, don't you worry."
"Thanks Eli," Bodhi said genuinely.
"Kidding Bodh? Anything for you."
