Will I ever forget you?
Sometimes, inexplicably, I want to.
I want to let go. Emerge from my memories
As a pure, new being
Devoid of drunken nostalgia.
Yet other times,
I seem to remember the sweet
Storms you brought to my placid life.
I'm exhausted.
Of everything.
I know I'm being selfish, acting this way,
I know you don't like this side of me.
And I can't help but...
But you confuse me.
Even though our conversations
No longer seem to have the charm
They used to have, I can't help but come back
For more.
You're annoying that way, you know?
And I can't help but love you for that.
I... I'm finished, it really does feel so.
And yet you always seem to have
So much to say.
So much to complete.
I cherish you, I do.
And when I try to forget you,
I can't.
