Everything happened too quick, it didn't even give a quick break.
Jungkook's eyes darted to the wall-clock on the wall in his room anxiously, as he knew that the sun will rose in no time, and that signed the new day has started and another day he'd spent without him. Another day summed into his counting on 'how many days after he's gone'. The number's getting bigger and bigger, and today when he summed it was already 37. What did I do all this time? He thought. He then glanced to the mirror next to his bed and stared at his own reflection. He noticed that his collarbone was sticking out, his clothes became too big for him, his face became smaller so did his hands, legs; figure. His stomach growled as a sign that he should eat soon, but when he's thinking about food, he just wanted to vomit, because even though the food was only in his imagination, he often saw weird smoke coming out of it. Thick and dark, and disgusting. He drank water all day. He'd lost count on how many days he had a proper meal because Jin was currently out of the town with Namjoon and they'll be back in 2 days according to his calculation. His other friends, they were Jimin and Yoongi, another couple—or you could say a pair that was destined for each other, been together since middle school and they were still as sweet. Jimin often paid a visit with Yoongi but most of the time he'd visited alone because Yoongi had to work. And the last one it was Hoseok, been single ever since he broke up with Yoongi. It was actually his own decision to end his relationship because he realized that he wanted Yoongi to be his friend only, he soon realized that he was asexual. Glad that Yoongi and Hoseok stayed as best friend and Jimin then came along with them, in which Hoseok had no problem at all.
Jungkook saw dark smoke at the ceiling which made him frowned. He didn't bother to think about what that was and kept looking at it like it wasn't a thing to be concerned. He'd been seeing them often lately. He marveled his room, realizing how dull it was and the smoke covered the light bulb, which made the situation even duller and lonely, and heart-breaking. The silence was deafening and Jungkook couldn't help but to force a yawn whenever his hearing fading. For the first time in a long time, he finally has a motivation to get out of bed without feeling that he was being forced to go out. His legs were trembling because he had been crossing his legs on his bed for 10 hours straight without even bother to move, even when some of his friends called to check on him, and his legs felt ticklish. When he walked outside of his room, everything seemed to be untouched. The sofas were dusty, the TV screen was also covered in dust, the window that has been closed for weeks. The atmosphere felt really empty, as he was the only one living in the house he's in right now. No laughter to be heard, no sobs to be calmed, not hurting begged to be healed. The corner of his eyes caught something and when he tried to catch, it turned out to be a framed photo of Taehyung. The more he looked, he finally saw a crack at the upper corner of the framed photo. "when did this crack appears?" he muttered to himself. He decided to check the frame and ran his slim fingers on the crack. "I miss you..." He muttered to himself, as his tears began to slow from his tired eyes result from not sleeping. He then heard his phone buzzing from his bedroom and then he finally had the courage to pick it up. It was Jin that dialed him. "H-hello...?" He stuttered, not wanting Jin to hear his voice cracking. "Jungkook, have you been sleeping? or eat at least? I'm on my way back now with Namjoon driving the car for me. Don't tell me that you didn't eat anything when I wasn't around...I told you not to suffer yourself, Jungkook-ah... you are important to us all..."
Jungkook stood silent, utterly speechless.
"Jungkook...I understand how hard it is to be left by Taehyung... but he'd been resting in a better place now...he might want you to let him go too. You don't want to make him sad, do you?" but Jungkook was too stubborn that he did not accept the fact that Taehyung left him first. He needed Taehyung right at this moment, but recalling the scene where he saw Taehyung's body was already lifeless, without breathing, eyes completely shut, not bothering to open them to let himself see Jungkook for the last time. Jungkook did not accept. In fact, he couldn't, because he was too selfish. And he hated himself for that too.
"I can't let him go...not yet," Jungkook said shortly but tried to make his voice sounded calm. He could hear Jin sighing from the other side and cleared his voice, "Jungkook, I just want you to understand... but, you know, right now I'm only 2 hours away to your house, so please wait and I'll make sure you'll eat properly again. I care for you, Jungkook-ah..." and like that, Jungkook and Jin probably hung up their phone altogether. Back to the stubborn boy that was haunted by the image of Taehyung being next to him and how he wished he could at least pulled Taehyung into his embrace and gave a kiss on the dead boy's forehead.
"Taehyung...can you comeback? Do you hear me? You can, right? You will always listen to me..." Jungkook muttered. He sat on the sofa and hugging his knees, resting his head on top of it. Inside his head he kept calling Taehyung's name, so loud, but his mouth completely shut. He kept calling and calling... wishing for an answer.
But he then shook away those thoughts, at least just for this moment. With all the tears starting to pool, he opened his phone again to have someone to talk to because suddenly he just need someone to talk, then he texted his friend, Jimin.
