A group of me and my friends continue walking towards the city of Solon. The soft winter's snow crunch under our feet as we make small chitchat. We follow behind some of the larger groups. I hear footsteps coming and I turn around to see my brother running towards us.
"Melanie!" Travis yells. As he nears us, his foot gets caught on a branch causing him to lose balance. The next thing I know, he's right beside us face planted in the snow. We all laugh and Ashley snorts, causing us to laugh harder. Valerie smiles and pecks Daniel on the cheek. Their hands intertwine and I return my focus to my brother, face down in the snow. I hold out a hand and he takes it and I return him to his feet.
"Smooth." I say with a laugh. We continue walking and I turn around to see that Demin is growing farther by the minute. I begin to wonder where my best friend, Sam, is. Ashley seems to take some notice of my expression and inquires, "What's the matter?"
"Nothing. I just haven't seen Sam in a while." Ashley knows that Sam is my best guy friend at the moment. Not seeing Sam means something happened.
