(vb. ) to ask another to marry another
'did you ever once think about our future?'
'our future?'
'yeah, whether we will be together, or separated,
leading our own lives?''not really. but i do know one thing.'
'what?'
'that you will be mine forever.'
"so, you got everything ready?" the red-haired male with his usual sparkling eyes, asks the brunette male, as he stuffs another piece of chips into his mouth, munching on it loudly as he watches the youngest scans the contents in his luggage carefully. glancing upwards with a little furrow between his brows as the brunette stumbles along his way as he reaches for his laptop lying on his bed, before placing it nicely into his luggage, nodding his head, "yeap, almost everything."
"does she know that you will be arriving early?" the older one, hoseok, asks as he spins around in the youngest's computer chair, ignoring the scowls that the other is shooting at him. "nope, i told her parents and her friends to keep it a secret. it is meant to be a surprise."
hoseok chuckles lightly, placing his feet on the ground while stopping the spinning of the chair as he smiles gently at jeongguk, the youngest, who he has watched since he was in his teens, "it is going to be a good surprise, and i wish you all the best, really."
"i'm nervous, hyung. what if she says no?" jeongguk exhales out heavily, locking up his luggage while looking at hoseok, before shaking his head, "what if she doesn't want me to be her other half in the future and says no? oh gosh, what if she hates me after i pop the question?"
before hoseok can even reassure the youngest's worries, another voice speaks up, "guk, stop worrying and have some in yourself, and your relationship, alright? ask yourself how long have you two been dating." both the heads turn around to the youngest's room door, where a blonde male is standing there, sipping on a packet of milk.
"jimin hyung! ah― at least for seven years, with the period of break," jeongguk's eyes light up slightly at the presence of his other hyung, who is very close to him since their teens, as the volume of his voice softens. the older, yet shorter male, walks into the room while plopping himself on the bed, as he props his knees up, "when did you meet her then?"
jeongguk tilts his head slightly, as he does some simple mathematics mentally ― he met her when she was sixteen, and him being eighteen, and their relationship moved up another level a year later, and since then, they decided to enter a relationship together. "sixteen," he replies, frowning slightly as he wonders where this topic is heading with all the questions that jimin is throwing him.
"and then, think back. how much the two of you went through during these eight years together, from friends to best friends, to lovers and then strangers, and so on," the older one shrugs his shoulders, as if whatever he is talking is a casual topic. the youngest then tilts his head, as he falls back onto his butt, recollecting his memories of his girlfriend and him since they first met.
he first met her when she was sixteen, and him eighteen, where she was added into sm's recent girl group, red velvet, as the fifth and last member while he was part of the struggling-to-survive boy group, bangtan seoyeondan. with her group's official debut, and his own group having another comeback, they met backstage where they were doing some introductions and of course, being the shy boy jeongguk naturally is, he stood behind his hyungs as they did most of the talking while his eyes would constantly stray towards the youngest member of red velvet, kim yerim.
