okay, hi. i'm putting this at the beginning of all the new chapters of all my fics as i write them.

i'm gonna start editing other people's fics! whether you have one that you already published that you'd like me to read through and fix up, you're writing one already, or not a confident writer and want a little push to start writing your own fics, i'll do anything! (note, i understand i have a ton of spelling errors in my books, it's because i personally don't proof my books, it's because proofing what you just wrote is boring to me)

if you're interested, or know anyone who's interested, just private message me, either on here or DM me on my instagram: kitchensink.covers

okay, happy reading.

i was becoming increasingly worried about tyler. we had a lot of the same classes together, and a lot of times i would look over the class and find that he wasnt there.

whenever i came back to our apartment, he wasnt there, he wouldnt come back until late into the night. what i found strange was that every morning, he would wake up early, go to the food hall and grab food for us, or make something himself, and wait for me to get up, sitting at the kitchen table with breakfast ready.

the first day that happened was a week after his incident, that was the first time we went back to classes, we weren't behind somehow, liza and some other friends told us the work we needed to do and handed assignments in for us.

but for weeks after that, after we received our assignments in class, i would watch tyler get up and scramble out of the room.

"are you doing okay?" i asked him every morning. "yeah, i'm fine." he always replied.

"can we talk about what's been going on?"

"nothings been going on?"

"tyler," i huffed. up until we started going back to classes, he seemed so frail, never left my side. i was never alone, and call me selfish but i missed it. of course, i had liza, but she was busy working and doing school, i was lucky enough to be on full scholarship so i just worked on the weekends to get some pocket money.nonetheless, tyler seemed happier, which i was glad of.

it was about a month after the night in the kitchen, i was in my bedroom watching youtube videos about drums in the dark, the only light coming from my laptop screen. i'd been thinking about learning the drums, i knew there were some in the studio on campus i could use to see if i liked them before getting my own, so i decided to look at some tutorials for some of my favorite music.

suddenly there was a knock on my door, i pulled my earbuds out and furrowed my brows, flicking the desk light on. "tyler?" i called and the door opened quietly. tyler stood there, face flushed and pink. "what's wrong?" i asked, alarmed as i threw the blanket off of me and stood up. tyler trudged over to me and as i held my arms open, he fell into them, hugging me tight and crying hard. i sighed and hugged him back. "do you wanna talk about it now?"

tyler sniffed and lifted his head up, looking at me. "i was running on a high these past weeks, i'm crashing," he said softly. "i finished what i was doing and now that it's done i feel so drained."

i could tell that's all that he was going to say so i nodded. "did you eat?"

he shook his head.

"i dont have anything except some leftover chicken noodle soup that i made on sunday, do you want some?"

tyler nodded.

"okay, well, do you wanna sleep in here tonight?"

he nodded again, i felt bad because he was feeling so terrible, but i had tyler back.

"do you wanna get changed?"

he shook his head.

"alright, well climb in, i'll go heat your food up," i finished, rubbing my hand up and down his back before releasing him. he looked at me with teary eyes before standing up and walking over to the bed.

i walked into the kitchen, glancing at the clock. it was only 10:30, i was glad tyler was home earlier than usual.

i grabbed the tea kettle from the stove and filled it up before placing it back down and turning the burner on. while that was boiling, i grabbed the soup and the bag of noodles out of the fridge, putting some noodles in a bowl before pouring soup over it, covering it with a napkin, and putting it in the microwave.

soon enough the water was boiling and i poured it into two mugs, each had come tea and a tad bit of sugar in them. as those steeped, i grabbed a cafeteria tray that i stole a while back from under the sink and put all the dishes on it before turning the light off and walking back to my room.

tyler was lying in my bed, hugging onto a bunched up blanket and staring at the wall when i nudged the door open. when he saw me he immediately seemed to relax, letting go of the blanket and sitting up. i smiled at him before walking over to the bed, setting the tray on my bedside table, and climbing in. i took the tray up again and handed it to tyler, taking my mug off of it as i drew my hands away. "sleepy time tea, it helps me relax."

"thank you."

"of course, eat up. do you want to watch anything? i was gonna watch some british shows on netflix" i asked gesturing to the laptop. (european, canadian, and australian shows are 100% better than american shows, that's just my opinion.)

"okay," he said before eating a spoonful of the soup. "this is really good."

"thank you," i said as i turned the doctor blake mysteries on. (it's such a good series if you like mid 1900s mysteries, another good one is murdoch mysteries but they took it off netflix which i'm so sad about, it's about a detective in victorian era toronto) i gave tyler an earbud which he put in his ear and continued eating his soup, periodically we both sipped on our tea. twenty minutes later, tyler was done eating, he downed the rest of his tea, and handed me the earbud back. i took it from him and paused the show, pulling my own earbud out.

"i still want to watch, the sound is just making my head hurt, can you put the subtitles on?" tyler asked as he set the tray on the bedside table closest to him. i nodded ang plugged both earbuds in before turning the subtitles on and resuming the show. i flicked the light off before getting comfortable. soon enough, tylerhad his head resting on my shoulder, arms wrapped around my arm, and he snuggled close. i gently rested my head on top of his as we watched the show together, by the end of the episode, tyler was nodding off, i wriggled out of his grasp and held my arms open for him, hugging him close so that his body was diagonal over mine and his head in the crook of the left side of my neck. after another half episode, i got uncomfortable and closed my laptop, before setting it down and squirming around until i was on my side, holding a sleeping tyler in my arms.

hi i really love this book, i love it more than LITP and i love it nearly as much as drown. it's a goal of mine. i want to write books that i would be obsessed with if i weren't the author, it makes me feel good, and i love it a lot.

the same goes for music, my goal is to write music that i would listen to on repeat if i hadnt been the one to write it, but that's so much harder than books because i honestly dont like a lot of music that i write.

anyway, i hope you liked this chapter, i'm excited for the next one, i'll start it after i do my school work tomorrow, well today because it's 12:22. if you have any interest in the little opening paragraph i wrote up there, please dont hesitate to message me, same goes if you have questions.

much love
atlas xx
