~Dominica P.O.V.~
I woke up around 1:30 a.m. with sharp pains in my stomach. I shot upright in my bed. I walked to the bathroom and sat down thinking it was diarrhea, but to my astonishment all I did was pee, not even a lot. I attempted getting off of the toilet only to fall from cramps. "Porscha!! Brooklyn!! Ya'll I need some help!" I yelled. I tried once more to stand and fell down. I crawled over to the bathroom door and sat with my back on the door. "PORSCHA!!! BROOKLYN!!! I NEED SOME GODDAMN HELP N- OWWWWWW!!!!" I yelled interrupted by my own scream of pain. They both came running in my room and Brooklyn hit the light switch. "What the fuck going on in here?" Porscha said holding her gun pointed in the air.
"I got sharp pains in my stomach, and it ain't my period cause I just got off of it about 2 or 3 days ago." I explained to them. "I need to go to the hos- AHHH!" I yelled. "I can't walk yall." I said on the verge of tears. Porscha put her gun down and her and Brooklyn helped me to the car. Once Brooklyn got in the drivers' seat, we sped off. When we got to the hospital, they took me to the ER. The doctors were moving fastly in a huge room, checking my heart rate, checking my blood pressure,and making sure nothing was abnormal. Until I recieved another sharp pain causing me to jolt up and arch my back, screaming in pain. "Does she have any allergies, is she allergic to anything?" The doctors questioned the girls. "No, nothing at all." Porscha answered frantically. "Does she......medications?" The doctor asked but I wasn't able to hear everything he said because voices were fading out. "She uses ibuprofen.....she....migranes." Brooklyn said but again I wasn't able to make out everything she was saying. My eyes begin to flicker open and close until they closed when they flickered one last time. The last thing I saw was a nurse drawing blood from me, and another nurse rushing to me with a oxygen mask.
All I saw was black. And I heard something sorta like a flat line.
~Brooklyn P.O.V.~
"Dr.Brew she passed out. Stat 108. Code blue." One nurse yelled. "Alright lets perform CPR." The doctor said. "'I'm sorry its violating code, nobody except patients and nurses and doctors are allowed back here. Thank you guys for all the help but I'm gonna have to ask you guys to step out in the waiting room." A nurse told me and Porscha. "Alright we'll go, just please. Whatever you do. Please save her. I've basically raised her. That's the little sister I never had." I told the nurse. "Ma'am we'll do the best we can. " She said and when she said I began breaking down. I left the room and went to the waiting room.
~3 Hours Later~
"Family of Dominica Taylor!" Im assuming 'Dr.Brew' said. "Okay may I talk to you in the back?" The doctor asked. "Yea, sure." Porscha said. "Okay follow me." She said with a smile as if she had good news. "Alright so we have done many tests. Im sorry to say this but, -" She said as her smile turned into a frown. "tests have shown that Dominica has Sickle Cell Anemia. Has she had any pains as a child?" The doctor asked looking at both of us. I looked at Porscha cause I didn't know alot of stuff about Dominica.
"Nope....she was just fine... as a child.... I don't understand whats going on." Porscha said. "Were there any relatives that have possibly had sickle cell?" The doctor asked. "My sister's dad had Sickle Cell but Dominica never had any syptoms of it as a kid so we thought it probably skipped a generation." I told the doctor. The doctor nodded her head as she typed information on her keyboard and frequently looked up at us. "Alright so here's what I'm gonna do. Im going to have a 8 month supply of Hydroxyurea for Dominica shipped here for the sharp pains, and any other pains she recieves. This medicine is the best medicine yet that we have to stop Sickle Cell Anemia pains. The thing is, it will take at 2-4 weeks before the shipment is here. You would end up paying around 245.00 for the whole 8 month supply of about 150,000-300,000 pills. Until this shipment arrives she can use over the counter medications such as Tylenol or Ibuprofen. She said printing something and signing it.
