Part 1
Sara is in a classroom working on her work, girls giggling, and guys playing paper football. It’s a pretty small classroom with a bunch of classroom posters with grammar stuff written on it. The room was very colorful.
Sara: "Ever since I was born, the choosing committee always told me that I was born into the future. I didn't know if I should believe my parents or them. They also told me that my parents from the "present" world aren't even my real parents.
A flashback of her shows when she's small and it shows her facing at the choosing committee. This futuristic building, and out the window showed flying cars flying really fast.
Sara: "They also told me that I was their little subject, for this choosing gene that they came up with. The choosing gene was for letting the choosing committee choose life choices for you instead of you choosing life for yourself, and I don't really have an opinion of it because I was born with it. Well sort of, I don't really remember not having it."
The choosing committee tells younger Sara some of the things she can do if she needs them to choose a problem for her
Choosing Committee Employee: "Whenever you want us to help, you just tap the side of your forehead or say computer ok?"
Young Sara: "Ok."
Shows back to the colorful classroom again and it gets closer to Sara's desk showing a bubbling sheet with some of the circles circled in. She taps the side of her forehead, but nothing happens, she starts tapping her forehead furiously but still nothing happens. She starts saying...
Sara: "Computer.... computer. Computer!
But still nothing happens, but she puts her head up seeing that people are staring at her. Her best friend Megan turns around her chair and mouths "Are you okay?" and Sara nods and then the bell rings.
Next class starts and Sara quickly rushes to her desk and drops her stuff not caring in the world that some of the stuff drops. She immediately speeds to her history teacher's desk.
Sara: "Can I go to the bathroom?"
History Teacher: "Sure Sara, grab the bath-"
Sara: "Thanks Mr. Bradley!"
She hastily grabs the bathroom pass and walks out of the classroom. Apparently Megan saw Sara walk out of the classroom, concerning about her. As soon as Sara was alone in the bathroom, she goes into one of the stalls. She goes into her backpack and pulls out a small button with a sliver sticker showing a symbol of an eye with a lower case "c". It shines from the big light from the bathroom stall. Then she presses the red small button.
It immediately takes Sara to the future, the light dims and shows a big sliver building with the same symbol, but it also says "The Choosing Committee".
Sara: "Wow, isn't that helpful."
Sara says to herself with a sarcastic voice. Then she walks into the shiny silver building. When she walks into the building she looks around to find out that everywhere in the building like a single soul isn't even in the building.
Megan: "Sara!"
Sara gets a mini heart attack and turns around to find it her best friend Megan who followed her. Megan's eyes were filled with wonder and fear. It started growing onto Sara's eyes also.
Sara: "Me-Megan... what are you doing here?"
Megan: "I've got the same question for you."
Both girls stand there in the empty building space just looking at each other. Sara knew Megan wanted answers but Sara didn't want to tell her right here, right now.
Sara: "Why are you here? You're not supposed to be here!
Megan: "You aren't supposed to be here either.
Megan gets closer to Sara moving slowly. While Megan does that Sara quietly moves away from her. Megan starts realizing that Sara is backing away.
Megan: "Sara? Where are we? When I saw you run out of Mr. Bradley's door so fast I knew something was going on, and then I went to the bathroom to find you; but I was teleported to this place with big sliver buildings everywhere like I was in New York or something.
Sara just kept staring at Megan. To make it less awkward, Megan looked at the windows and saw flying cars; it freaked her out even more. She started shaking a little.
Megan: "Sara! Sara answers me!!"
After a couple of seconds go by, Sara finally stepped up and started saying something. But before she can start...
Sara: "Before I start explaining everything, you need to believe me one hundred percent, ok?"
Megan understood and started nodding fast. She really wanted to know, why Sara was like this.
After explaining briefly about what's going on and why they are here Megan starting understanding step by step. But there were some things that were hard to her to believe.
Megan: "So you're saying that you were born in the future... here?"
Sara: "Yes, The choosing committee told me-"
Megan: "Why should you believe that 'choosing committee' anyway? They didn't do any good for you at all."
Sara briefly thinks about that question and statement. Yes, they didn't do any good to her but her always gotten used to it. She really doesn't know, she doesn't know how to even answer it. Sara couldn't say that she doesn't know to Megan.
Megan has always been a rebel, and usually she doesn't really trust anyone except the people she cares about. Or something happened to someone that she cares about. Other than that, she never trusts anyone else. You got to make her trust you.
Sara: "Megan, I really don't know. But if you help me look around this building I'll probably answer you."
Sara was half-telling the truth and half-lying, of course she's probably not going to find answer she knows she will never. Also but what if she does have an answer. Megan still agreed on her deal.
But Sara also wanted some answers why there isn't anyone in this building. The last time she was here (when she got her choosing gene put inside of her and she was put in the "present" world to live) there were plenty of people working, talking on holograms, and other stuff. It was a pretty big building that almost the whole entire town of Kenwood would fit in there.
Megan: "What are we going to look for anyway? Is there something you need?"
Sara: "It's not really I need, but I just want to know why my choosing gene isn't even working."
Megan: "Why do we have to do it now? Why can't you do it after-?"
Sara: "Because Megan! Because I never chose anything ever in my life! The Choosing Committee did everything for me! I just did everything they told me! I don't know anything about subjects and stuff or you guys call math... I don't know ANYTHING!"
Sara sits down on one of the comfy chairs, and covers her face so she doesn't show Megan that she's crying, even though it's really killing inside of her. They never taught her anything.
Megan: "I'm sorry ok; I didn't mean to get you upset. You know me and all my questions, I can annoy you with all of them but you still stood around; and I'm glad you did.
Megan sits right next to Sara, comforting her. Whenever Megan ever does that, Sara always puts a smile on her face. Megan never does that all the time, she only does that when she's truly sorry. But they but smile and both give a big hug.
