13) Father hood.

It's being a week since the birth of the twins, Lydia and David. Mia still hadn't fully awoken, she was stuck in a dream that she couldn't wake from. She would scream and scream and sometimes would call for her dead boyfriend, Kyle.

Sarah had begun to warm up to my family and got along great with my brothers. Rebekah visited twice since the babies were born.

I was stuck in a daydream when I heard someone call. No it wasn't like a normal call, it was a call for help. I use my inhuman speed to find myself in Mia bedroom. She was crying in the corner of the room holding Lydia in her arms tightly.

"Mia?" I walk to her and she looked terrified. "He took the baby. He's not dead." she cried.

MIA'S POV: before Kol came up to her.

It felt as if I had been asleep for days. My hand reached a flat stomach, I started to panic untill I could hear the mumbles a baby makes. I sigh and pull myself free of the bed.

I got the feeling that someone was watching me. When I pull myself up I could see a black figure standing at the end of the bed.

"Who are you?" I ask worriedly. He laughs, there was a black ski mask covering his face. "I knew you were Strong but I didn't think you were strong enough to live after I poisoned you." his voice was familiar.

"What do you mean poison?" I ask, I was still trying to figure out who it was.         "A powerful witch had a vision about you and she asked me to poison you and your children, that's why your daughter was dead when she was born."

I had a daughter, hearing that made me feel happy. "The witch wanted me to kill them so that's what I'm going to do," he walked over to where the nursery was. 

"No, please." I cried after him. I tried to run but I saw there was stitches and a cut on my stomach so I walked as fast as I could.

I couldn't get into the room because the was a barrier. "Just like his father." he said slowly gazing into the child's eyes. "Do you remember what Kyle said to you when you first met his mother?" he asked turning to face me.

"He told me his mother had twins and his parents couldn't afford to keep both children so they kept their first born, Kyle never knew if he had a brother or sister. His parents didn't want to know what he looked like, they were too upset. Why are you asking me this?"

He sighed and said; "What if Kyle had a twin brother who looked exactly like him and he used his brother to stage his death?" What was wrong with this guy in the head, I thought.

"He wouldn't." I spoke slowly pushing back my burning tears and swallowing a burning taste in my mouth. He put the baby back in his crib and slowly pealed off the ski mask.

I was in shock, this can't be real. "I watched you die, you died in-front of my house." tears broke free of my eyes and spilled down my face.        "No it was my twin brother, Simon. And if your wondering it was me you slept with." he half smiled at that.

"Why? why did you do it?" I ask in a shaky voice. "My people wanted to live in peace without a research team called 'Ultra' finding them. So we sided with the travellers because they wanted the same thing. Marcos was the only person who knew about my brother. We planned big things and he would only get in the way so we used him to stage my death."

"That is the most horrible thing I've ever heard." he laughed at that.   "When I found out you were pregnant I knew I had to destroy what I had created and that what I will do." he took one of the children and teleported out of the room.

I screamed in horror as he took off. The barrier breaks and I run into the room to find one empty crib and one crib with a little girl in it. I take her out and sit in the corner of the room clutching her closly to me.

Kol comes into the room, he looked shocked when he saw me awake. 

 "He took the baby. He's not dead." I cried and he comes over to comfort me. He calls everyone home. I felt my humanity slowly slip away but I needed to be Strong for my baby girl.

Did you really think I would kill off Kyle?
